Liam walked outside the event hall and right outside, he saw Hilda who waited at a corner looking around like she was waiting for someone.

When their eyes met, she waved her hand at him and he nodded his head.

Liam did not know why but he found himself walking over to where she was standing and when he got there, he gave her a nervous smile and then nodded his head. “You came… was not expecting you.”

“Yeah… same here,” she answered and then looked around again.

“Are you waiting for someone?”

“Ah, yeah. I’m waiting for Arlo.”

“Oh, your boyfriend?” He raised his brows.

“Arlo is not… my boyfriend,” she swallowed hard.

“He’s not?”

“He’s just a business partner and he wanted us to come to the event together. I have nothing to do with him, I promise,” she defended.

Deeply, she wondered why she was saying all of this. He did not even ask her!

“Oh, nice.”

“You’re leaving?” She asked him and he nodded his head.

“Yes. I gotta go.”

Hilda nodded her head and Liam did the same too.
