Starting Afresh

ATHENA'S POV.

I was shocked by what he had said. My father had been an Alpha? No way. I had been an Alpha's daughter all along?

I began to think of all the misery and pain I had gone through. Did I really have to go through all that? It was so easy to picture me painting in the garden, and having maids feed me strawberries. I could have run around in the field with friends.

Balls, ceremonies, and celebrations could have been something I loved. I could see myself in the castle dressed in finery, and running towards my father.

That was a life I could have lived, but I didn't get to have such a beautiful life.

I didn't want to miserable, and pathetic, crying over something I couldn't change, but it was quite painful. Thinking of everything I had to experience, compared to everything I could have experienced, brought tears to my eyes.
