Chapter 48Derek sat alone at the long table, finishing a very nice stew and brooding on his solitude. Victory lay at his feet, her soft cry distracting and her low scratches on the cold floor occasionally distracting Derek. Chapter 52It was not until late afternoon that Nancy left the stable, she had spent the whole day there with nothing to eat. Paying deaf ears to Phil's endless plea for her to go and eat something.
