CHAPTER 17- The Truth

Lara had already fallen asleep, but I was still wide awake. Rider's words lingered heavily in my mind and I would not stop until truth would come out. I attempted to rummage through Lara's belongings and meticulously searched through her old stuff until I stumbled upon a family picture, sending a chill down my spine as I gazed at it. Written on the back were the words "my family." As I scrutinized the photo, I realized that the young girl in the picture was indeed Lara and the man beside her—how could I forget the face of the man who was the reason for my miserable life? I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist as I realized that what Rider told me was indeed true.

Upon looking at Lara who was soundly asleep, an intense anger surged in my heart. The bitterness of my past resurfaced sharply as I remembered what my mother did fifteen years ago. My anger to her and to that man ran so deep that I would not stop until I ventured my revenge to him, through his daughter.
