CHAPTER 1- A Playgirl's Encounter

The realization that I was in a suite with Magnus Grayson completely baffled me. I couldn't remember I was with him last night. Of all people, why did it have to be him?

Magnus, the strongest Alpha of the Silvercrest pack was known for his womanizing ways. With his alluring charisma, every woman would definitely fall for him, but not me. But why I was with with him in bed? 

"You?" Magnus' eyes widened in great shock. "Why are you here with me?"

His way of asking irritated me, causing my voice to raise a bit louder. "Don't ask me Alpha, because I don't know either."

Out of annoyance, I abruptly rose to my feet without realizing that I was naked and only a piece of blanket draped over me. When it slipped to the floor, I sensed Magnus' gaze on my nudity but I knew it meant nothing to him. Anyway, he was used to seeing a naked woman all his life.

Magnus in a visibly bad mood, put on his clothes and hastily left the suite. Once he was gone, I took a moment to check myself. I didn't feel any discomfort so I was certain that nothing happened between him and me. As to why we were both undressed, remained a puzzle. The only memory I had was being at a bar last night. So, how come I was here with him?

I shook my head as I put on my dress. Afterwards, I left the room and made my way to the parking garage to check if my car was there. When I saw it parked, I got even more confused because as far as I could remember, I parked it at the bar last night.

Even after I arrived home, thoughts of what had occurred between Magnus and me kept lingering in my mind. However, it was out of the question for me to develop feelings for him for it was something that didn't exist in my system. He had numerous women in his life but no committed relationships. Like him, I remained unattached, simply reveling in the thrill of being chased by men who ultimately ended up heartbroken once they fell for my charm.

"Where have you been?" Alpha Callum spoke behind that startled me. He was like a brother to me as his family took me in after I lost both my parents. There was a time when he expressed his emotions, but I told him we could not be more than siblings, so he started to put those feelings aside until he eventually let them go completely.

"I was with Magnus," I responded with a blank expression.

"What? How could you—"

He was not able to finish his sentence, as I covered his mouth with my forefinger.

"It's okay nothing happened," I smiled and winked at him.

Alpha Callum furrowed his brows in confusion and shook his head. "Okay, just prepare for tonight's celebration. As usual, we are invited to the villa of the Silvercrest Pack. And I'm hoping your real mate would find you, so you would stop from playing around with men."

"Well, I hope you also find yours, brother," I said while clinging to his arm. "See you around, Alpha."

I smiled as I released his arm. I headed to my room to get some rest. While lying on my bed, thoughts about Magnus crossed my mind. As I visualized what happened earlier in the suite, I couldn't help but admire his half-naked body. No wonder women were captivated by his irresistible charm and masculine build. I guessed, almost all women in this town had already shared with him in bed. 

Indeed, a womanizer!

Occupied with the thoughts of him, I had fallen asleep. I was just awakened when one of our servants came in, reminding me about the celebration at the villa of the Silvercrest Pack.

I rose from my bed and walked into the bathroom. After ten minutes, I went out and took something to wear from my wardrobe. I dried my hair with a blower before putting on the red maxi dress I had picked out. 

As soon as everything was fixed, I went out of the room and headed to where Alpha Callum was waiting for me. 

"Wow, you look so stunning my dear sister!" he exclaimed in great admiration.

"When did I ever become unattractive bro? That's why men are crazy about me, right?" I softly chuckled.

Alpha Callum smiled at me and shrugged his shoulder. "Okay, fine. Let's go. Mom and Dad are already waiting for us in the car."

After a few minutes of travel, we arrived at the biggest villa, belonging to the Silvercrest Pack—the most prestigious pack in the entire municipality of Tribiano, Milan.

The whole town of Tribiano was inhabited by three werewolf packs: the Silvercrest Pack, the Yellow Stone Pack, and the Shadow Pack. The Alphas of these packs held the highest positions but only the Alphas in the Silvercrest pack were considered the elite class with full authority over the town. 

On the other hand, I, as the daughter of a Beta, the second highest-ranking wolf in the Yellow Stone Pack also possessed wealth and power but was bound to abide by the rules of the Silvercrest Pack.

At the age of twenty, I had not yet found my mate and I never dreamed of finding him. I was just enjoying hanging out with men and that was all.

As soon as I entered the wide entrance of the villa, my heart was beating fast as I laid my eyes on Alpha Magnus, who looked irresistible in his formal attire. Our eyes locked, and I felt a flurry of butterflies in my stomach.

"Sis, it's now obvious that you are attracted to Magnus," Alpha Callum whispered in my ear. 

"Of course not!" I frowned.  He smiled at me, as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. 

"Good evening. Welcome to the villa Alphas." Magnus' father, Alpha Ulysses greeted us and led us to our seats. He was the current leader of the three packs, but I heard he wanted to pass on his leadership to his son, Alpha Magnus. 

Other guests also arrived and the next few hours were spent eating, drinking, and dancing. My brother was with a beta from the Shadow Pack, whom he believed was his mate. Yet, their bond remained in question until the moon reached its peak. Suddenly, I had to attend to a personal matter and made my way to the women's restroom. Within moments, I heard the eerie howl of the wolves, indicating the presence of the full moon. However, as I was about to go out, I caught a familiar scent nearby. I took a whiff.

Driven by curiosity, I went out of the women's restroom only to be taken aback by the sight of Alpha Magnus outside, leaning against the wall.

"Lara?" he spoke in surprise. "You're my mate?"

I looked at him and chuckled. "You must be kidding, Alpha. How could a womanizer like you, be my mate?"

Alpha Magnus shot me a piercing look as he approached me. I stepped back, but he quickly pulled me towards him and kissed me. My heart beat even stronger as our lips met. I leaned against the wall and closed my eyes while responding to his passionate kiss.

After a few seconds, he stopped and gave me a playful glance. "How does it feel to be kissed by a womanizer like me?"

"Um, nothing interesting at all. Just the same kisses I've experienced with other men," I smirked. I was glad my mind worked well, and I was able to quickly respond.

"Oh really? Well, let's see. But bear in mind Lara, you're my mate. And you are mine!" Alpha Magnus blurted out, gritting his teeth.

I left immediately because I was afraid, he would kiss me again and we end up in bed. Oh my gosh!
