Chapter 61: Restrained anger

Jameson quietly stayed in a corner, watching his wife as he floated in and out of sleep. The swelling on her head had reduced to a size that wasn't as big as it was initially and there was no sign of internal bleeding in the ct scan they ordered she do. The door made a slight sound as Kelly came in to the room,a pack of coffee and brown bags Jameson suspected contained some pastries. Kelly paused as she watched Betty, her eyes looking sad before she moved to him. 

"I brought you something to eat." She said and he took the things from her and thanked her. She sat down beside him and together they watched in comfortable silence. 

"Why aren't you going home?" Jameson asked as he took a sip of the hot beverage.

She shrugged carelessly, "there's no way I can go home, mummy B needs me here with her. Why go home now when I might end up being worried." She said before turning to give him an accepting smile. Jameson watched her, feeling
