I stood at the heart of our defensive line, the relic pulsing with a subdued light in my hand. Around me, the werewolves and their allies were rallying, their faces set with determination. Nathanial was organizing the patrols, ensuring that every inch of our territory was covered.

"Emily," he called out, jogging over to me. "Gabriel's forces are on the move. We have scouts reporting large numbers heading our way. It's going to be a full-scale attack."

I nodded, my heart racing. "We need to hold them off until we can complete the ritual. We can't let Gabriel get his hands on this relic."
