Chapter 7

I’ve been here for a week and a half already. My mate's birthday is in three days and if I want to get back to that family dinner I have to get cracking.

But it’s easier said than done, instead of being called to help the same exact day it happened I was told weeks later, so any trace of this guy was already washed away. Then she said he sent me, so the person she’s talking about must be from the blood moon pack, but no one came here but me and Alpha James. Unless Emily was seeing someone in secret and it ended ugly, but no matter how hard i try to piece it together I just couldn’t because so many pieces from the puzzle were missing.

I asked Alpha Kane if I could take a look inside of Emily’s room and I was granted permission. It was like any regular teenagers room posters, pink sheets and her diary.

I felt like I was about to violate her privacy but that’s the only way I’ll be able to bring her justice.

Her diary talked about someone big and strong, how he’d tell her she’s his true mate and the woman he’s with now is his chosen mate. She talked about a diamond necklace that she was given. I looked around the room but there was no necklace.

I placed my nose on some of her clothes and they smelt like expensive Men’s perfume, but the strange thing is that I smelt that perfume before I just can’t remember where.

I allowed my mind to play a little but nothing came to mine, not even a name for the damn perfume bottle. It’s as if I’m chasing a ghost, and I’m no ghostbuster.

I sighed loudly and leaned my head back against Emily’s door frame. I cleared my head and looked up at the ceiling. And that’s when I saw the shine from the diamond necklace hanging down. I removed everything from her bed, jumped up and grabbed the necklace and held it in my hand.

The necklace looked like I had seen it before, but not here in my pack. At the back it had the word fated written behind it with a heart. I snapped a quick photo of it and then placed it in my bag.

After going through Emily’s room I headed back to Alpha Kane's office, I told him I didn’t find anything because at this point I’m not sure who to trust. If those rogues could attack me within an hour of me being on the move, it meant that someone tipped them off and that someone knows my training, they know blood moon pack warriors are trained like killing machines and for the first time I’m actually happy Alpha James trained us the way he did.

The next day I decided I’d like to go talk to Emily’s friends. I know girls talk to each other about everything so if my suspicions are right, she would have told one of her friends about the person she was seeing.

Alpha Kane gave me a list of names. The first one on my list is Ashley.

Ashley is a betas daughter and is in the same class as Emily, but according to what she says she and Emily had stopped talking weeks prior to her death.

Then there was Hannah, a small omega wolf that’s also in Emily's class, but she said Emily kept her mouth sealed when it came to the person she was dating.

Lastly is Brandy and I’m really hoping she could tell me something. Anything.

I walked over to a young she wolf who’s been crying by the look on her face.

“Brandy, I’m Brandon, I have a few questions.”

“He’s tall, strong built and has short brown hair. I don’t know his name and I’d never seen him, I’m just going off of what Emily told me. He gave her a diamond necklace and told her to hide it from her parents. ‘ sicko’ I tried telling her if he already has a mate there is no way he’s good news, she just didn’t want to listen.”

“How did you know what I was about to ask?”

“Alpha Kane told me to cooperate.”

“Thank you, for your cooperation.”

“It’s not a problem, now hurry and catch that bastard.”

“One more thing, do you know which pack he’s from?”

“No, she never told me.”

“Thank you.”

After talking to Brandy I asked permission from Alpha Kane to have a bath at their pound.

The pound is beautiful and the water is clean and clear. I removed everything but my boxer and submerged myself under the water, I opened my eyes and looked at the moonlight reflection under the water.

I brought my head up from under the water and stared into the dead of the night, my only source of light coming from the moon. I look over at the big rock and I envision my mate sitting upon the rock, her wet hair falling to the center of her back.

And the beautiful smile she always has on her face.she hops off the rock and swims over to me wrapping her hands around my neck and her feet around my waist and just holds on to me tightly.

I wipe away the water from her face and stare into her beautiful honeycomb eyes wanting nothing more but to kiss her beautiful pink lips.

Her lips are so beautiful and to…

“Beta Brandon.” Aurthur calls me out of my gaze.

“Yes.”

“ The story, please continue with the story.”

“Weren’t you listening? I am telling the story.”

What does your mate have to do with the story and why aren’t you calling her by name?”

“ Because it’ll ruin the surprise.”

“What surprise?”

“You’ll see.”
