I woke up earlier than ever since I will have to attend to Claudia's duties in her absence. But before carrying on with household chores I dimmed it fit to prepare my boss's breakfast before he woke and that I did.The instant I saw sir Charles descend the stairs, I rushed to him. I took hold of his briefcase and waited for him to walk toward the dining but he did otherwise. “You don't need to do that I can hold it myself,” he said. “It's not a problem for me sir. The living room isn't far from the dining.” I answered.“I see. Don't bother, I won't be having breakfast,” he said and I wasn't pleased with his utterance. “sir it's still quite early and I think it's better to have something in your tummy to help you prepare for the day ahead of time. You can't say how occupied you'd be. I doubt you will eat at work. Sir try taking in some food even if it's little.” I tried to persuade him. “Well, you have a point it's just 7:00 a.m.” As soon as he said that, I led him to the dining.
Maureen's head was injured with an open cut and blood sprawled from it. Harry another chauffeur in the mansion saw her condition and rushed to her. He took her into his arms yelling. “Maureen! Maureen!” Immediately he saw the blood on her head, he shut his mouth and carried her into one of the cars that were packed nearby. He had been planning to step out so the car was open.He placed her in gently and then rushed back into the mansion to get the car keys. “Antonia! Come here!” he called out and soon Antonia arrived.“What's the matter and why are you shouting at the top of your voice?” she asked in a confused tone. “I need you to call Dr Gabriel and inform him that we'd be coming to the hospital. Do it quickly. We don't have time.” Harry told Antonia.“I don't understand. Why do I need to do that?” she asked again. “Look, Maureen injured her head and it's bleeding. Be fast about it.” Harry said.“Wait! Shouldn't we call Mr Charles before stepping out?” Harry inquired. “Don'
Charles came back earlier than the previous day. His car screeched and he descended. He went straight into his home and then to his room. He had been busy all day with meetings and investigations concerning the cause of the plane crash since parts of the aeroplane had been discovered. He had to resolve the matter immediately to let the rumours die down. That would only happen if they find the black boxes and other evidence to prove West Land non–involving in the plane crash.Truly, Charles wishes that the proof they find frees WL and himself of the allegation to regain the public trust in West Land.He dropped his briefcase and went to his study to check some papers he left before heading back down. Meanwhile immediately Matthew, Charles' personal chauffeur came, Antonia saw him walk to his room so, she got ready to bring Charles's dinner. By the time Charles was down, she had already dished his food and so she left to get the fruits. Just when she left, Charles sat down and star
Hailey didn't waste a second and quickly she rushed to Charles and pushed her body into his in readiness to envelop him in a hug but Charles was swift and before their bodies collided, Charles stopped her. Hailey was confused by his action and a cruel crease appeared on her brows. She had only been able to sniff a little of his intoxicating masculine scent. “You're fully aware that I don't like hugs. Don't make the same mistake again.” Charles' words were cold and Hailey was a little displeased but he had told her before and she was aware. The expression on her face changed as she realised that she made a mistake. At first, when Hailey and Charles started their relationship, she had a difficult time adjusting because of his prospects. She met him at one of his business partners' wedding. What was surprising was how she secured an invitation. Her mother had devised the whole thing after she saw West Land company magazine in Hailey's room. She noticed that the page was flipped to th
Hailey went into the mansion. She walked in elegantly with a sullen look on her face and her look became deadly when she spotted Antonia. She looked at her with disgust. She was annoyed and since she didn't like the sight of pretty maids, she became angrier. She knew Antonia was in her thirties and yet she was still beautiful, which she didn't like.Honestly, Hailey is a problematic person. “Good morning ma'am.” Antonia greeted and Hailey simply walked to the couch and sat. “Get me alcohol,” Hailey said and Antonia felt relieved that she hadn't angered her in any way. “Okay, ma'am,” she said and before she took a step Hailey spoke again. “Before that, go get me, Maureen!” Hailey said and Antonia widened her eyes in shock. Now, she was certain that Hailey had been confronted by Charles and was worried that Hailey might hurt Maureen again. She knew that their meetings never went well. She often wondered what Hailey had against Maureen.“Ma'am she's resting. I'd do whatever she's re
I hate that I have to cry. I just hate that I can't control my emotions. I'm sad mainly because my parents had never yelled at me. Also, I worked per–time in Louisiana before I came to Texas and in my years of service, I had never been tortured by my boss not to speak of his friends or girlfriends. Antonia rushed toward me and I was sure that she had been watching everything. “Maureen, it's okay. Don't be like this. You don't deserve to be treated badly. Come on.” she said lifting me as I cried. She held my hand in one of her hands and the mop in the other. She dropped the mop and took me to my room. “Sit,” she said and placed me warily on the bed. “I don't know what she must have said to you but I don't want you to take her words to heart. You're a good person as well as a good cook. Don't be sad.” she said and I whimpered. “She's mean. I did all she asked of me. I had to prepare food for her and yet she was cruel.” I said while whimpering.“That was so bad of her. I didn't k
I had the most amazing sleep ever. I hadn't felt that much peace in a long time and it was only because sir Charles's kind gesture warmed my heart.I had a beautiful day, no stress, no insults and mainly no Miss Hailey. At first, I was scared that she would pay another visit but I'm glad that I was proven wrong. My day went by finely and at night, I waited on my bed for sir Charles to come by again but I was disappointed that he didn't. I decided to check my phone for some news to check for any updates regarding him and his company but it was the same as always. People were still in mourning so, the media itself was not in his favour. It was 11:00 p.m. and he hadn't still returned. I began to feel uneasy and was scared as usual. It could be that he's alright but my emotions won't let me feel at ease with the situation. I tried as much as possible to stay awake but as expected my eyes gave up and I fell asleep. A FEW DAYS LATERAfter the day sir Charles came to my room, I hadn't se
His being feverish explains the odd attitude that he had been displaying all morning. With my aid, sir Charles sat up. I adjusted the pillow and placed it behind his back so he'd be comfortable while sitting. Afterwards, I picked up the tray table and placed it across him. Our eyes met shortly as I did so but I averted my gaze since he was right before me. Besides I always feel shy whenever I'm closer to him. Also, I don't want him to think I'm flirting because I was privileged to come into his room. I was aware that sir Charles only authorised Antonia to come into his room since only she cleaned and touched his things so, being here felt good. Our gaze was magical even though it didn't last.I won't deny being dazzled as his deep blue eyes met my black. It felt like the perfect combo but I couldn't stare as much as I desired. Immediately I placed the tray before sir Charles, he picked up his fork to eat.A minute passed and sir Charles hadn't started eating. He simply held the fo
