I dressed him up and as we were about to step out of the house, my mum’s voice echoed. “Please bring him back early, it’s a school night.”

“Okay, ma,” I responded.

I grabbed the door handle, and we stepped out. I held Liam’s hands and we both walked to the car.

“Is this your car?” He asked me as we got into the car.

“Nope,” I answered, putting the seat belt over him.

“Who has the car?” He twitched his eyes. “Who are the scary men at the front?” He pointed to the driver and Vito’s bodyguard who sat at the passenger seat.

I didn’t know what to say to him. I didn’t know if it was appropriate to tell him I had a boyfriend. “What would you like to get from the mall?” I ignored the question and tried changing the topic.
