I trained a hard look at Nessa when I heard those words come out of her mouth. She knew it wasn’t in her place to tell Valerie about our kiss but she went ahead and did it.

Although Valerie knew I was never going to be committed to her, it would still break her heart if I kissed someone else. Especially someone she felt insecure about.

She tried her best to defend me and give me the benefit of the doubt, but she couldn’t quite find the right words to do so. I had no idea why she even tried defending me when I already made it clear she had no business with what I do with other women.
