"You didn't say you were coming." I said, standing by the door and watching him pull off his shoes at the entrance of the house.

"My bad. I was actually on my way to school and decided to stop by. Thought someone would be happy." He replied.

"Well, I'm not." I retorted. "Was about to come by your house."

"No one's home though." He replied.

"Your brothers? Nana? Ruby? My mom?" I asked at a go.

"Yeah. All those people you mentioned aren't home." And as if recollecting lost memories, he creased his brows together and asked, "Your mum? Whatever is your mum doing in my house?"

My lips parted to form an o, realizing what I had just said. I knew I had fucked up, but there was no need to keep on hiding the fact that my mum worked for them. One way or another, they were surely going to find out. Besides, as I thought about it, I couldn't find any legit answer for hiding the fact.
