Abigail's p.o.v;

It had only been a few weeks since my first day of school, but already there was so much I didn't know. My mother would be here in an hour and she'd have to go to work and she'd probably call around to tell me where to be and what time I need to get back home and who' s waiting outside at the curb. It all sounds like too much for me, especially in such a short period of time, but Mrs. Mills is very nice and has explained that we are going to make sure I'm comfortable, even if it might not seem like it right now. And it isn' t just her teaching that makes my mom worry – she's also working as the teacher of this elementary school, which means that she is constantly on top of me and always checking in with me. She doesn' t know why my dad left, she doesn' t know how bad things got between him and Mr. Williams, but I' m sure that if she did, she wouldn' t worry as much about me.
