Chapter 34: Deal

In the luxurious living room of the Lynn mansion, Mr. Maxwell's face was contorted with anger as he scolded his daughter, Valerie, who stood silently beside her mother seated on the sofa. Mr. Maxwell paced back and forth, his voice rising with each passing second.

“Upon everything, I did so you could have a better life, you threatened me with your life?!” He was livid that Valerie had threatened him with her life, despite everything he had done to provide her with a better life.

Valerie's eyes rolled involuntarily as she listened to her father's words. She thought he was being too dramatic and overreacting to the situation, she stood with her arms folded across her chest, a look of nonchalance on her face as she said firmly.

"Dad, if I had asked for your help earlier, I know you wouldn't have helped me," she said with a hint of frustration in her voice. “I needed you to agree with me, and not lecture me like always.” Valerie let out a small, exasperated sigh and continued to gaze at
