Chapter 65: Beast

I look carefully at my brother, in most things we act differently, because we have different opinions of what is going on. However, on this occasion we think the same.

For we both know perfectly well that my father's return to our lives does not bode well. Father was not a good husband or father, and this, coupled with what I saw, gives me the impression that he has not changed.

Neither David nor I are sweet boys who love to be pampered, yet the coldness of his words and actions give me to understand that the cold man who beat his wife and mistreated us has not yet left.

That is undoubtedly a cruel truth, but a truth nonetheless.

I accept that promise and walk towards the exit with him by my side without uttering another word. Because that's how we are, when we feel bad we don't want to be talked to, we simply want to feel the company of that person.

One who does not judge or force you to talk, he is simply there to give you to understand that even when your world is turned to nothing
