Maxwell's heart warmed at this. But with so many people around, he had to maintain his image and merely gave a cold hum.

Rachel's expression turned ugly. She hadn't expected Jennifer to change her approach!

Rachel could only watch as Jennifer pulled Maxwell's attention away from her.

Before Jennifer left with Martha, she muttered softly, "Then I'll be waiting for you."

And so, they left together.

Rachel immediately felt a sense of dread. After all, she realized that Maxwell had fallen for Jennifer and was the one who refused the divorce.

If Jennifer remained as stoic as she was, it didn't matter if the two weren't divorced as long as they parted ways. But now, all Jennifer had to do was bat her lashes at Maxwell to have the latter swooning over her.

Rachel observed Maxwell's expression and pouted sadly. "Maxwell, can't you stay with me and the child tonight? I'm scared of being alone and can't sleep well."

Maxwell looked indifferent. "Didn't you hear? My wife wants me home."
