Aethelfrith's POV

"Where are you going?" Leon asked the moment I stood up from the bed.

"I should pay Queen Elisabela a visit," I replied, walking towards the door.

"But you haven't seen or visited her since you returned, why do you want to visit her today?" Leon asked curiously.

I sighed heavily, "I would love to greet her, that's all," I walked out of the room.

"Be polite and call her mother at least, you can win her over with that," Leon shouted at the top of his lungs so I could hear him outside the room.

I walked to Queen Elisabela's room, I didn't even wait for my arrival to be announced. I just walked in, she was playing a game of chess with her right handmaid.

"Good evening Queen Elisabela," I Greeted, slightly bowing my head out of respect.

"My son is hurt, so what is so good about the evening?" Queen Elisabela asked, her voice low and sad, still concentrating on her game of chess.

"Your son is healing," I said. I gestured for her maid to leave the room, which she did.
