Pov Lily

I was in the room with Johanna, still recovering from the recent events. My mind was in turmoil, and I couldn't forget the attack I had suffered that night. Even though everyone around me assured me that I was recovering, I still felt weak and vulnerable with each passing day.

"You may enter... the slave has been with Johanna all day," I heard the soldier's deep voice at my door.

In a few seconds, the Beta entered the room, his expression serious and concerned. That alone was unusual enough to make me raise an eyebrow, but what he said next surprised me even more.

"The Alpha has requested that you see the doctor, Lily. He is concerned about the discomfort you've been experiencing and wants you to be evaluated."

Johanna and I exchanged surprised glances. After what the Alpha had said in the past, that only his blood was enough to heal me, this attitude was completely unexpected. Still, I couldn't help but feel suspicious.

"Why is he suddenly concerned?" I asked, my voice weak
