The Meeting that Started it All
Valery adored spending time in the Market Streets of Vinora.  The Market Streets of Vinora were a series of streets in the capital city of Vesperia that were lined with both stores and small stalls selling products that ranged from the most basic bottle of water to the most obscure ancient tomes on demonic beasts and enchantments. It was still early, so while there were still people walking around, most of the people were street vendors and store owners who had just opened their doors. It was later in the day that the streets truly came alive, when the street performers, musicians and artists would set up and share their talents openly, garnering the attention and patronage of market-goers and tourists. Valery herself could be convinced to spare a few dollars if she thought someone was exceptionally talented.  Even so, from dawn till dusk, there was never a dull moment to be experienced in the Market Streets. The Unfortunate Case of Messy Rooms and Broken Doors
The rays of the morning sun warmed the cool autumn air that seeped through the open arched stone windows of the old palace hallways which have yet to undergo the renovations that the more lived in sections have received. Her hair was still wet from her shower when she left her rooms with the intention of seeing her sisters, who were located all

You're a Nominee Valery I
Valery let her sisters guide her to the royal family's private living-space-cum-dining-hall while listening to their complaints with half an ear. The rest of her focus was on the palace staff flitting around them. She tried to keep her observation as subtle as possible, but she knew she was unsuccessful when Solarys tugged on her coat sleeve with a concerned look on her face.  “Valery? Are you listening?”  Valery offered her sheepish smile. “I’m listening, Sola, don't worry. You were just telling me about how the terrible Ms. Archibald got you both punished for bringing a spider to class.”  “We were,” Solarys agreed, but the frown on her cute little face remained. “But, something is bothering you. What’s wrong, Valery?” Solarys had an uncanny talent for observation and a strong sensitivity to others’ emotions since birth. A skill she clearly inherited from their late mother, who Valery remembered being able to read people like a book.

You're a Nominee Valery II
Valery burst out laughing. “What? I’m sorry, uncle, but I thought I heard you say that I was nominated for a Courtship.” How absolutely ridiculous! Valery enjoyed the broadcasts as much as any other person who enjoyed trashy romance dramas, but she had absolutely no desire to actually participate and she was certain that she would have remembered if she had sent in an application to the damn thing.“Valery. That was what I said. You were the last name on the list of candidates. As a Civilian nomination.” The King spat out the word like it was a curse. Valery’s jaw dropped . “What? How? A Civilian nomination? Who?”She was at a loss of words. The K
