Dinner With The Xanders

Blakeley sighed nervously in the car, at first she was so nervous but after the rules Alex gave her, she couldn't help but worry.

She breathed out and Alex turned to her, he noticed she was tense and he placed his hand on her thigh, she looked at him and he turned away from her.

He paid attention to his phone but didn't withdraw his hand from her thigh. The gown had a slit so he was touching her bare thigh.

Blakeley stopped thinking about his family and diverted her thought to his hand on her thigh. He used his thumb to crease it and it made her heart flutter.

Since he wasn't staring at her, Blakeley turned and looked out the window. She bit her lip to stop herself from smiling.

They finally got into an estate and Alex withdrew his hand from her thigh, the car stopped in front of a White House and Blakeley became tense again.

“Are your parents the president of the United States?” She found herself asking as they walked out of the car.

“No.”

“So why is it a White House?”  She asked as she looked around.

“Because they decided to make the house white.” He replied and Blakeley nodded in response.

“And he is friends with the president.”  He added and Blakeley froze. Alex held her hand and pulled her to himself.

“You are my wife, we had a court wedding while I was on a business trip and we had been dating for six months before we got married. We met in New Orleans.” He whispered into her ear and Blakeley took a deep breath.

“Okay.” She muttered and Alex pulled away.

“Ready?” He asked and she shook her head in response.

“Great, you are ready.” He said and pulled her gently with him, the guard opened the door for them and they walked in. Blakeley was amazed by how the house looked but she hid it. She had to act like she came from a rich home. A commoner can never be welcomed here.

“Alex.” A familiar voice called, as she showed up in front of them, Blakeley recognised her as the woman who treated her on the island.

“Hey.” Alex replied with no expression on his face as she pulled him into a hug.

‘Who is she? And isn't she going to blow their cover?’ Blakeley thought as the woman welcomed them warmly and she replied with a smile.

“Alex is here.” She announced and a guy walked out from a direction holding a lady. The guy looked like Alex but Alex was cuter. The lady seemed to be his wife because their hands were locked.

Blakeley expected them to exchange greetings but they didn't.

“Where is he? We have been waiting for a while now.” A middle-aged man said as he walked down the stairs, next to him was a woman. They looked like Alex so they were obviously his parents.

“Alex.” A cheerful voice called and a lady, Blakeley's age, ran down the stairs and walked past Alex’s parents.

She rushed to Alex and hugged him which made him let go of Blakeley’s hand, Alex sighed and tried to pull away but she didn't let him go.

“That’s enough.” He said.

“Hug me back.” She replied and he did, she giggled and pulled away from the hug. Blakeley noticed everyone in the room was staring at her and her heart started to race, Alex held her hand back and pulled her closer.

“This is Blakeley, she is my wife.” He announced and his elder brother scoffed, his parents had no expression on their faces but the woman who treated her on the island and the lady who hugged Alex smiled.

“Good evening sir and ma’am.” Blakeley greeted them but she got no response from them.

“Dinner should be ready.” His mother said and everyone walked towards a door except the lady that hugged Alex.

“Hi, I’m Cassie. Alex’s sister.”

“Blakeley.” She replied and the lady pulled Blakeley into a hug.

“Just ignore their attitude and answer their questions perfectly, then you are good to go.” Cassie said as she pulled away from the hug.

“Yeah, thanks.” Blakeley replied and she smiled before walking away.

She turned to Alex and stared at him with a worried and scared expression.

“I don't think I can do this.” She muttered and Alex rolled his eyes at her.

“Five fucking million dollars. Get your head in the game.” He replied and she exhaled, they both walked towards the direction everyone had taken.

They got to the dining room and everyone was already seated, Blakeley and Alex sat next to each other which made Blakeley opposite his elder brother, his wife was opposite Alex, their parents sat next to each other while his sister sat next to their mother. The table was large so other seats were vacant.

The maids dished the meals inside the plate and Blakeley gulped, most of the meals there looked strange to her. Everyone started eating and all she did was stare at her food. Alex noticed what was wrong and he dished out pasta for her, she smiled at him and she slowly started eating.

“You don't like Paella?” She heard his father ask and her heart skipped a beat.

“Yes sir.” She replied.

“Where are you from Blakeley?” His mother asked and she glanced at Alex before clearing her throat.

“Los Angeles.”

“Where in Los Angeles?” She asked and Blakeley's palms became sweaty.

“Beverly Hills.” Alex replied and Blakeley screamed in her head.

“Wow, that’s great. What is your last name?” She questioned further.

“Hunter.”

“I haven't heard of that name before but it's fine. How long have you known Alex and when did you guys get married?”

“Oh, we met in New Orleans when he was on a business trip, that was six months ago and we got married a month ago.”

“How come we didn't hear about it Alex?” His father asked.

“It was a court wedding and we couldn't hold back at that moment.” He replied and his elder brother chuckled.

“Sounds like Alex.” He muttered and looked at Blakeley.

“Welcome to the Xanders family Blakeley, hope you keep up.”
