The Party

“Tch.” Mrs. Xanders muttered as they stared at Blakeley lying peacefully on the bed.

“She really passed out due to camera flashes. Isn't she used to it?” Mrs. Xanders asked Alex and he ignored her as he paid attention to Blakeley.

After Blakeley passed out in the midst of the reporters, the guards carried her and passed through a different entrance and took her to a room. The venue of the party was a mansion, with a ballroom in it.

The reporters got distracted by the arrival of another important guest, Alex’s family heard about Blakeley passing out and one of his guards led them to the room.

She has been unconscious for about thirty minutes. Mr. Xanders got a doctor among the guests and he confirmed she was okay and she would wake up anytime soon.

The Xanders were all present in the room waiting for her to wake up and they were all getting impatient.

“Do we really have to wait here?” Dante’s wife asked and they glanced at her.

“I mean the party is going on and we are missing a lot of great opportunities and important people to be here with her. The doctor confirmed she was fine so why are we still waiting?” She asked angrily and glared at Dante.

“She is right, Alex is with her. We can check up on her later.” Mr. Xanders said. Alex wasn't paying attention to them, all he did was stare at Blakeley with rage burning inside of him.

“I will wait with them.” Cassie said and the others left the room.

“She is going to be fine, Alex. Don't worry.” She said and he ignored her. After a few minutes, Blakeley moaned and slowly opened her eyes.

“Hey,” Cassie called with a smile and she glanced at her, she recalled what happened and she slowly looked at Alex who had no expression on his face. She knew he would be mad at him, she fucked up big time.

“Cassie, can you head back to the party? I want to have a quick chat with her.” Alex told Cassie and she nodded in response.

“Take care, Blakeley.” She said and walked out of the room. Blakeley slowly sat up and gave Alex an apologetic look.

“I… I’m really sorry. I wasn't feeling comfortable with the flashes and I... “

“Are you ready?” He cut her off and he paused.

“Huh?”

“Are you ready to go back?” He asked and she nodded in response.

“When talking to me, I always need you to respond with your words.” He warned.

“Yes, I am ready to go back.” She replied and he handed her heels to her, she sat up properly and put them on. Alex stood up and stretched his hand towards her, she took it and he helped her up.

Blakeley felt disturbed and surprised that he wasn't mad at her, he seemed cool even after the embarrassment she caused him.

“Alex, I’m sorry.” She apologised as they were about to walk out of the room. She felt so bad and ashamed.

“Are you ready to go now?” He asked and she sighed, his behaviour towards her was bothering her. She fucking passed out in front of reporters, that is huge.

“The president was aware my wife passed out, he might want to talk to you.” He said and she gulped.

“Oh, okay.” She replied and held his hand firmly,

They both walked out of the room and took another entrance into the ballroom to avoid the reporters.

As they got to the ballroom and people noticed their presence, Blakeley felt uncomfortable and she held Alex’s hand tightly.

Alex walked with Blakeley and they got to the table reserved for his family, they both sat down.

“Are you okay?” Cassie asked and she nodded in response. The rest of Alex's family members ignored her and she felt hurt.

As time went on, the stares reduced and the party was back on track.

Couples were dancing including Alex’s parents and Dante with his wife, Cassie also danced with a random guy. Only Alex and Blakeley were sitting.

Alex was less concerned about the party as he paid attention to his phone.

An old couple suddenly walked to them.

“Come on, why aren't you guys dancing?” The old lady asked Blakeley and she smiled.

The man pulled Alex up and the woman also pulled Blakeley, they both took them to the dance floor and Blakeley smiled nervously.

“Come on, dance with your wife.” The man urged Alex and pushed him slightly to Blakeley.

Blakeley moved closer to him and breathed out nervously. Alex slowly wrapped his arms around her waist and she placed her hand on his shoulder.

“Hm… Al… Alex.” She called and he looked at her with a questioning look.

“I… I don't know how to dance.” She said and he nodded in response.

“Just go with the music and my lead.” He replied.

“Okay.”

They started dancing and Blakeley tried to keep up but she stepped on him.

“I’m sorry.” She hurriedly apologised but stepped on him again.

The dance ended and Blakeley sighed in relief, she stepped on him throughout the dance and she knew his feet would be hurting.

“Are you okay?” She asked as the crowd walked back to their seats and he limped slightly. He didn't give her a response and she felt worried.

The party came to an end and Blakeley felt relieved, she couldn't wait to get home. This isn't a place for her. Although she was glad she didn't come across the president, at the same time, she wondered where he was. Probably he had something urgent to attend to.

As the Xanders were about to stand up from their table, a middle-aged man walked to them and Blakeley recognised him as the president, she hurriedly held Alex’s hand and dipped her nails into his skin nervously.

Alex glanced at her and noticed how nervous she was so he let her.

The Xander family stood up and welcomed him as he got to them, Blakeley froze on a spot as she kept hurting Alex with her nails.

He exchanged greetings with Alex’s parents, Alex and Dante also greeted him including Dante’s wife and Alex's sister but Blakeley kept still.

“You must be Alex’s wife. I heard you passed out, are you okay?” He asked and Blakeley nodded nervously.

“Fuck.” Dante’s wife muttered and rolled her eyes. Mr. Xanders glared at Alex.

“She is fine sir, she is still not feeling okay. Would you please excuse us now?” He asked.

“Sure. Goodnight.”

“Night sir.” Alex said and walked away with Blakeley who still held onto him tightly. The President was done with the Xanders family and he walked away.

“Are you sure she grew up in Beverly Hills?” Mrs. Xanders scoffed.

“Alex and I got to talk.” His father said and sighed.

Blakeley and Alex got into the car and she finally let go of him, she noticed her nails hurt him and his hand was bleeding slightly.

He stared at it and exhaled.

“Alex, I... I’m sor… “

“Shut the fuck up.” He snapped at her and she flinched.
