Guilt

Throughout the drive home, Blakeley kept mute. She kept glancing at Alex and his hand, the bleeding was starting to get worse but he ignored it.

She couldn't imagine the pain he would be going through in his hands and feet, she tried talking to him but he snapped at her, she couldn't blame him though. She has been such a terrible person to him tonight.

Guilt was eating her up and she felt so uncomfortable. He paid attention to his phone and answered lots of calls.

They finally got home and he walked out of the car without taking a look at her, she slowly walked out and sighed.

She got into the house and Logan welcomed her, she smiled slightly at him and headed to her room.

She got there and took off her dress, she cleaned the makeover but still left her hair styled.

She changed into a comfortable dress and she sighed as she sat on her bed. She kept thinking about Alex and it made her restless.

She walked out of her room and headed down the stairs, she got to the living room and met Logan having a conversation with the maids.

“Logan.” She called.

“Yes ma’am.” He replied and walked to her.

“Can you get me the first aid box?” She asked.

“Are you hurt, ma’am? Are you okay?” The old man asked worriedly.

“No, I’m fine. Just get it for me.” She replied. He turned to a maid and ordered her to go get it, she walked away and came back in secs with the box. The maid handed it to Logan and he gave it to Blakeley.

“Thank you.” She said and walked up the stairs. There were different doors in the hallway and she wasn't sure which one was the door to Alex’s room.

She hadn't really noticed him walking out of his room. She took in a deep breath and walked to the door opposite hers.

She slowly raised her hand and knocked on the door, she got no response and knocked again. After knocking for a minute and getting no response, she was about to walk to the next door when the door opened.

She froze as he poked his head out, a weird scent was coming from his room and his hair fell slightly on his face. She got lost staring at him, she could feel her heart race.

“What?” He asked huskily.

“I… I... Can I come… “

“No.” He cut her off and she gulped.

“Okay, I... I feel so bad and I have trouble sleeping. I just feel like this is the right thing to do. Can I please take a look at your hands and feet?” She rushed her words nervously and Alex looked down at the first aid box. Without saying a word, he closed the door on her face and she flinched.

Blakeley sighed and turned to leave but the door opened and he walked out, he was putting on a shirt but the buttons were loose, he wore a short with it.

Blakeley stared at his exposed abs and her lips parted slightly.

“You’ve changed your mind?” He asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.

“No, no, please come with me.” She said and headed towards her room, it was obvious he didn't want to let her into his room.

They both walked into her room and Alex sat on her bed, she sat next to him and placed the first aid box on the bed.

He stared at the box as she opened it, he watched every move.

“Can I?” She asked and looked up at him, she noticed his eyes, his pupils were dilated and his forehead was a little bit sweaty even though the air conditioning in her room was turned on.

She looked away and slowly took his hand.

She sighed seeing he had scars on his wrists and hands, her nails really hurt him. The blood already stopped.

“It might sting a little.” She muttered as she was about to clean the surface with Iodine. She expected a reaction of pain from him but he didn't show any.

She blew air on the surface as she did and Alex stared at her. She was done and she wrapped a little bandage around it, she was relieved as she did.

“Your feet.”

“They are not hurting.” He replied.

“Are you sure? I stepped on them pretty much.” She replied as she tried to look at him but she couldn't take her eyes off his shirt.

“Yeah.” He replied.

“Alex.” She called and finally looked up at him.

“I’m sorry about tonight. I was nervous and I couldn't control myself. I’m sorry I embarrassed you and your family.” She apologised and Alex nodded in response.

His expression was plain and he ran his hands through his hair.

“Are you high?” Blakeley blurted and he rolled his eyes.

“You have been smoking right? I smelt it when you opened your room.”

“Yeah, whatever.” He replied and stood up, Blakeley also did.

“Are you okay?”

“Quit with the questions.” Alex replied and walked out of her room. She breathed out and sat back on the bed. She felt better now after treating the wound.

‘He looks cute when high though.’ She thought out of the blue and smiled.

“Finally, I can get some sleep.” She said and exhaled in relief.

THE NEXT DAY

Blakeley groaned in her sleep as she tossed on the bed. She suddenly felt a presence and she opened her eyes, surprisingly she saw Alex sitting on her bed and he was going through her phone and

She rubbed her eyes and slowly sat up.

“Good morning.” She mumbled and he glanced at her. He was dressed already and it looked like he was going to work.

“I don't know about it and I don't care. All I know is you have fifteen minutes to get ready and be at the Xanders Empire.” He said and she raised her brows in confusion.

“Huh?” She asked and Alex dropped her phone.

“I am not going to repeat what I said. You are meeting my mum and she has a series of questions for you. You’ve got fourteen minutes left.” He replied and Blakeley groaned.

“Your family creeps me out.” She whined.

“That is why you are being paid five million dollars, the clock is ticking.” He said before walking out of her room.
