“Are you concentrating, kitten?” Atlas mused his voice thick with entertainment.
I reminded myself for the thirtieth time to ignore him and focus on the task Adelina gave me. It was going horribly, and Atlas found endless amusement in my outbursts and momentary losses in temper.
Atlas had already connected with water, and Alette had been coaching him on how to truly manipulate the magic surrounding his element. Apparently, we all had our own magical signature. The way one wove the threads of magic was totally unique. I longed for when I would finally connect with water and end this boring cycle.
“You scrunch your nose when you concentrate, did you know that?” He smirked, and I willed myself to remain calm, to keep myself loose and relaxed. “I don’t mean to pry, but it’s just so very adorable.”

“Atlas?” I gasped, instinctively placing my hands on either side of his face.His skin was smooth and cold as ice, as pale as his glazed eyes. A unique sort of pain coursed through me when Atlas’s throbbing length probed at my entrance. I remembered how my core clenched painfully at the sight of him. I sat in the sun for a few moments longer, enjoying the way it heated my skin and hair. Just a few days in the ice kingdom and I was ready for a little bit of warm weather.While the heat was comforting, it did nothing to chase away what gnawed at me. Atlas and I finished dinner in our suite and spent the rest of the night in our plush bed. I finally slumped into a dreamless sleep a few hours later. My body was sore from training and spending those last few hours with Atlas, but the pain reminded me of early mornings spent with Nicki and Dustin, training withall ofthe other recruits.As I floated in a dreamless sleep, something strange began to happen. I could see light dancing all around me,different colorsand hues. Some were warm, while others felt like a cool spring day. I had no clue what they were, but reached out anyway. "That's incredible." I laughed, watching as Atlas showed me what he had learned so far.Alette, Atlas and I stood around the rim of a great fountain, bigger than most modern swimming pools. The tile at the bottom was iridescent and shimmered under the warm sunlight. There were fish and different aquatic life carved from the stone that made up the fountain. A stream of water spewed from the top, forming a dome over top.Atlas was currently kneeling by the fountain, dipping his fingers into the water. The stream that spewed from the top morphed into a horse. I could see the eyes and snout from where I stood.
