CHAPTER 2

I feel fangs brushing against my neck, and in response, I abruptly jump out of bed in fright.

"Calm down, I don't plan on marking you... yet," he says playfully.

"I don't want a mate," I say confidently.

But it's not entirely true. Now that I've found my mate, I feel drawn to him, and our bond is growing stronger, and that's not good.

"Are you sure?" he says, getting up from the bed and walking towards me.

I swallow hard as I see him. His torso is bare, and he has a well-defined abdomen. His body seems sculpted, like something out of my imagination. He's so handsome! There are no words to describe how beautiful my mate is.

"Tell me, didn't you enjoy my kisses last night?" he says, his lips close to mine, brushing against them, and I let out a sigh.

He chuckles amused, and my eyes flash with anger as I look at him. I slap his cheek and his expression changes.

He pushes me against the wall, hurting me.

"You're mine, and I can do whatever I want with you, so be careful," he says through clenched teeth. I break free from his grip and look through the window.

"I need clothes," I say curtly.

"They're in the closet," he says calmly. I don't say anything as I think about my family. I need to go back and leave this place, and go to another country, but I can't leave my pack unprotected.

"I need to be with my pack," I say hopefully.

"You won't leave here. We'll send someone else to take care of your pack," he says. I turn to look at him with my mouth agape. He intends to replace me.

"I am the alpha of the Blood Moon pack. I need to be there," I say irritably.

"Oh, baby, you're with the most powerful wolf in the world. I'm a legend, in case you don't remember."

"Why did you show up?" I ask curiously.

"I was taking a walk near your house, and then I sensed you, but then you disappeared," I just nod and grab a towel to go shower. I enter the bathroom and undress.

I step into the shower and let the hot water relax my body. Maybe I can escape tonight without him noticing.

"You can't," Jenny says sadly.

"Why not?" I say angrily.

"You'll die if you're separated from him for too long, Jane."

"What!" I say startled.

"Yes, you can't live without him, Jane. I'm sorry, but his wolf is very kind to me," she says cheerfully. I let out a sigh and end the connection.

Great, just what I needed. I can't escape.

I leave the shower, and luckily, Alex is not there. I look at the closet, and it's filled with clothes for me. I put on a pair of jeans and a low-cut pink shirt, pink sneakers, braid my hair, and leave the room. I descend the stairs and go to the kitchen, where an older woman is cooking.

"Good morning, Luna. Would you like some breakfast?" she says politely.

"Yes, thank you," I say with a smile.

I look around, and everything looks very old. It seems they haven't planned on remodeling the place. It's still hard for me to believe that I'm with the Kollow Moon pack. I always thought they were a legend, something that didn't exist. However, here I am with them. It was fascinating but also frightening.

"Mmm... what a beauty," says a deep voice behind me. I turn around and find a tall guy with tanned skin, blue eyes, and blond hair.

"Get out of here," I say sharply.

"I like tough girls," he says with a mischievous smile.

Then, with a swift movement, he pins me against the wall, and I try to hit him, but he easily recovers when I strike.

"You're pretty good, I must admit."

He moves closer to kiss me, but I turn my face away, which only infuriates him more.

"Jenny, help me!" I say alarmed.

Then I transform into my wolf form, ready to smash that damn arrogant guy's face.

"So you're the legendary alpha of the Blood Moon pack," he smiles mischievously.

"That's right, it's me," I growl.

"What the hell is going on?" Alex says, confused, positioning himself between us.

"This idiot tried to force a kiss on me," I say angrily, still growling.

"What!" Alex easily slams the guy against the wall.

"She's my mate, you idiot! Don't you dare touch her!" he says through gritted teeth.

"Fine," he says nonchalantly.

Alex throws him to the other side. I grimace as if it even hurt me, but the guy doesn't do anything, acts like nothing happened, and leaves.

"That's Christopher, I'm sorry. Jane, it won't happen again," Alex says in a sweet yet stern tone due to his anger.

I transform into my human form and nod. He invites me to sit at the dining table for breakfast, and I gladly join, as I'm very hungry.

"I hope you feel comfortable," How can he say that? I miss my pack.

"Thanks, I'll try to be," I say expressionless.

We finish our breakfast in silence, and I can only think about being with my pack. I miss my beta and Jake... I hope they can forgive me.

"You can explore the entire castle, but you can't leave," Alex looks at me seriously, and I give him an annoyed look.

"I want my life back," I never wanted to find my mate for this reason, to be bound, and he's alpha of alphas, extremely possessive, and I don't like that.

"You're mine, Jane. Your place is by my side."

I lower my gaze and play with my fingers. It's true, my place is by his side, I love him, and I can't help it. It's part of our bond. The more time I spend with him, the more I want him, and my body craves his mark, but I'll never tell him. I want to hate him! Tell him to stay away from me as much as possible, but I can't. I feel like I'll die inside if he separates from me.

"You're falling in love," my wolf says in a sweet tone.

"I don't want to love him, Jenny, I don't want to! I barely know him."

"He's your mate, you can't help it," she says sweetly.

"Are you okay?" Alex asks, concerned.

"Yes, it's just that..." I bite my tongue to avoid finishing the sentence. I want to tell him to mark me as his own. My body longs for its mark on me. Oh, what's happening to me?

I raise my gaze, and Alex gives me a look of concern and pure love. I'm surprised by his gaze. His aura is so dark, and yet he looks at me that way.

He confuses me. I feel like there's something in him, something telling me to run, but there's also something telling me to stay by his side forever.

"I want you to mark me as yours," I say longingly.

My cheeks instantly flushed, and I look away. I can't believe I said that! I want to cry, scream, and run from embarrassment. I dare not look at Alex.

"Dad, where are you?" I say desperately.

I have to get out of here before our bond grows stronger.
