Alessia walked into my bedroom, which didn't surprise me. I was expecting her visit since I had been avoiding her.
"Hey, Kiana," Alessia offered a warm greeting. A faint smile graced her lips.
I looked at Gilly, who quietly left my bed and closed the door behind her.
My eyes locked onto Alessia's.
"Alessia," I replied, my voice soft and full of emotion. "It's been too long."
Alessia took a seat at the edge of my bed, her eyes scanning the room, which was adorned with bookshelves, paintings, and photographs. "Your room is beautiful; I can tell that your taste is much better than Dion's. Earlier, his room used to be so boring and bland," she chuckled.
The implication that she had frequented Dion's bedroom earlier was not lost on me as I narrowed my eyes.
Alessia's eyes sparkled with a mixture of fondness and concern. "You know, Kiana, I've missed you a lot in these two years. It's like a part of me was missing."
I remained silent, my gaze fixed on Alessia. I knew my friend too well; she was an excellent actress. I had seen her put on a show before, masking her true feelings behind a facade.
"Why have you returned, Alessia?" I asked quietly.
Alessia paused for a moment, taken aback by the question, but swiftly composed herself. "Kiana, I owe you an apology."
I regarded her with a mixture of confusion and concern. "An apology? For what, Alessia?"
"I've realised something—something that I should have understood a long time ago. You liked Dion as well. And that I was the third wheel between you."
I felt a wave of surprise wash over me, as I had never expected Alessia to admit to such feelings.
"So why does Dion feel I made you leave the pack?" You were the one cheating on him. You told me you had fallen in love with someone else. I didn't understand why Dion blamed me for your departure when it was your own actions that led to it.
Alessia's gaze dropped to the floor, and she let out a sigh. "I am sorry; Dion must have misunderstood. I was in a dangerous place at that time. I know it must have seemed that way, and I'm sorry for not explaining earlier. I thought it would be best for both of us if I left."
Alessia's answer was vague, and it seemed like she chose her words carefully. "Kiana, I'm sorry I can't explain everything right now. But Dion promised me something important."
My curiosity was piqued, and I pressed her for more information. "What did he promise you, Alessia?"
"He promised me the privileges associated with Luna's status."
Her revelation surprised me. "What does that mean, Alessia? Is he going to make you Luna?"
Alessia's eyes held a glint of hope.
"He had been waiting for me, Kiana," she whispered in my ear. "He said he would make me his Luna."
"You are right!" I said. Don't worry, I will step down from my position in a few months. The Dion and the Luna positions are all yours."
Alessia looked a little taken aback. Perhaps she didn't expect that I would give up everything so easily.
"Thank you for your gracious offer, Kiana." She reached into her pocket for a vial.
I looked at it curiously; the golden liquid gleamed in the light.
"What is that?" I asked.
"Wolfsbane," Alessia said casually.
I blinked. Wolfsbane is a deadly poison that can kill werewolves.
"Why have you brought that? Are you planning to get rid of me?"
"It is a very weak solution. It won't kill you." She looked into my eyes. "But it will help you get rid of that baby, Kiana."
I froze; she knew! How did she know? How much did she know? I was desperate to know her true intentions.
"How did you know?"
"Come on, I am your best friend. I must keep track of your well-being." She said it brightly, then she held my hand and said, Dion doesn't love you, Kiana. I know it's hard, but this is the best decision for you, Kiana. I don't want you to be tied down because of an unwanted pregnancy. I hope you understand."
"How can you suggest something like that, Alessia?" I said it in anger. Aren't you afraid of what Dion might do to you if he finds out that you want me to abort his baby?"
Alessia looked down sadly. I couldn't believe how such a malicious person could have such an angelic face.
"He asked me to take this wolfsbane to you, as he had no interest in the baby. "
"What? No, that can't be true," I exclaimed, my eyes wide with disbelief. "I need to talk to him. I need to hear it from Dion himself."
Alessia, however, blocked my attempts to leave.
"Kiana, trust me. Dion doesn't want you in his life anymore. He wants me."
The words were like a thick fog in the air. I couldn't understand why Dion would leave his kids. But Alessia's sure attitude and the scary words stuck with them.
"Take this, Kiana," Alessia said, her voice almost soothing. "It'll make the pain go away. You won't have to suffer through this."
I looked at the vial in her hands, my heart heavy with grief. "I can't. I won't."
Alessia pressed the vial into my trembling hand. "It's the only way, my dear. Dion has made his choice, and you need to make yours."
Defeated, I sank to the floor, sobbing.
"Kiana, do what's best for you," Alessia said, leaving me alone with my defeat.
Tears streamed down my face. I felt trapped, torn between my own desires and the weight of Dion's decision.
Alone in the dimly lit room, I stared at the bottle of wolfsbane that Alessia had left behind. The revelation of Dion's decision weighed heavily on my heart, casting a shadow over my thoughts.
As I contemplated the drastic step, Gilly entered the room, concern etched across her face. Her eyes narrowed as she noticed the ominous bottle on the table.
Gilly moved closer, her eyes flickering between me and the deadly vial. "You can't seriously be considering..."
I cut her off, my voice a mixture of sorrow and anger. "I don't know what to believe, Gilly. What's the point of having his baby when Dion doesn't want it?"
Gilly's eyes widened in shock. "You can't give up. Not like this. And wolfsbane? It's not the answer. It will cause a miscarriage and harm you as well."
"What's the point, Gilly? He doesn't love me, and I can't force him to."

As I reached Dion's office, the evening cast long shadows. A glimmer of hope remained within me; perhaps Dion wasn't as cruel as Alessia said. We hadn't seen each other since the party. The gap between us has become wider. As I stood at the door, he looked up at me and nodded.
His eyes were distant and guarded. He didn't meet my gaze directly, and a pang of hurt shot through me. It seemed as if he was merely tolerating my presence, as if our connection had become a burden.
"Dion," I began tentatively, the air thick with unspoken tension. "Did you arrange all of this?"
A heavy silence lingered between us as Dion avoided my gaze, his eyes distant and evasive. "Yes, I hope you can understand," he finally murmured.I sneered, with a bitter edge to my tone. "Understand? How can I understand when everything has become a twisted mess?"My voice was quivering with a mix of frustration and hurt. "For over two years, I've worked hard, believing that you would notice me if I just kept trying. Why did everything changes when Alessia came back?"Dion sighed, his shoulders sagging as if under the weight of his own decisions. "Kiana, it's not that simple. I made a promise to Alessia, and I wanted to fulfil it."I couldn't bear to let him finish. Interrupting him, I shook my head in disbelief, feeling a sense of discouragement settle in. "A promise to Alessia? Is that all you care about? What about me?"Dion hesitated. "What has this got to do with you, Kiana?" I don't understand why you are being so unreasonable."I cut him off. "Unreasonable? Dion, I was so stu
Dion _I clutched the divorce agreement in my hand, a heavy weight settling in my chest. The sadness that gripped me was inexplicable. I had never considered divorce, and the reality of it left me bewildered. Why would Kiana, who had confessed her feelings for me, choose to end our marriage? As I sat there, trying to make sense of it all, memories of our passionate moments flooded my mind. She was so beautiful and responsive. My wolf loved her the moment I found out that she was my mate. I resisted the bond, all because of my stupid ego and a promise. My stubbornness had pushed her away. I never considered her feelings. It was natural that she felt insecure when Alessia returned to the pack. I should have asked for her opinion instead of taking my decision. The regret washed over me, intensifying the heaviness in my chest and fuelling the desire to fight for what we once had. "Why, Kiana?" I whispered to the surrounding emptiness, as if the answer lingered in the air. The room felt c
I left the pack behind, a choice I had never imagined I'd have to make. I couldn't stay with Dion any longer, not after what had transpired. I could get through the physical and mental pain of my miscarriage, thanks to my powerful ability to heal. I was proud of how strong I was because I was now standing on my own, ready to face a future I couldn't quite picture. I had never been on my own. But I knew enough about the humans to survive. I had some money, so I boarded the first bus I saw, heading towards a city I had never been to before.I arrived in the small, quaint town of Springdale. The town, nestled between rolling hills and dotted with charming cottages, seemed frozen in time—a perfect destination for tourists seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Little did they know that I, too, was seeking a fresh start, a chance to redefine myself beyond the shadows of my past.My first goal was simple—to find a job that would allow me to sustain myself. The windows of a
Kiana - "I am Lucas Randall. Alpha of the whispering shadows pack. Would you like to join my pack?" His voice boomed.I blinked, feeling the night's breeze caress my skin. The risks were high, and Lucas's offer was almost too good to be true. I couldn't take the chance of him finding out who I really was because it could flare up rivalry..I politely turned down Lucas's offer. "Thank you, Alpha Lucas, but I'd rather walk by myself. I don't want a pack."His smirk deepened, amusement glinting in his eyes. "Interesting," he mused, his voice a low rumble that resonated with the authority of an alpha."But every lone wolf, especially one as young and beautiful as yourself, is vulnerable. What is your name, lone wolf?"I paused, my gaze exploring the starry expanse surrounding us. I could not reveal my real name."Anya," I said, my voice firm. "I have always been a rogue wolf since my parents died. They were also rogues like me."Lucas's smile held a knowing edge. "Anya," he repeated, t
Dion I awoke as usual; the days passing with an uncanny routine after Kiana's disappearance. I continued with the routines that defined my existence, preserving the picture-perfect Alpha persona.Reports came in, business partners were met, and worried directors were given advice from experts. In the afternoons, I was always on time for meetings, and I was happy with how they turned out, which was up to my high standards. Even the extra worry of border disputes didn't interest me much; I just watched what was going on without feeling like I had to get involved. It all seemed pointless and unimportant. When I returned, Gary, my butler, offered apologies and bowed deeply, sensing the disappointment in my gaze. He had found no leads about Kiana's disappearance. I reiterated my command to find them, uninterested in hearing excuses."But, my Alpha-" he began, but I cut him off, dismissing his failure. "It's simply impossible for anyone to disappear without a single trace."I closed my ey
Kiana- I was lying in bed, and the soft light in the room took me to a dream world where the past came back to me like a vivid memory. I was standing in front of the packed school's enormous gates as a five-year-old. My platinum blonde hair was in ringlets around my face, and my eyes were a strange shade of purple.I saw the scene play out. Before I went into the schoolyard, I paused. My small hand held the strap of my backpack. The sound of laughter filled the air. But the laughter turned to whispers when the other kids saw me as the new kid who looked different."Look at her hair! Is it even real?" One child sneered, triggering giggles from the others.I felt a knot tighten in my stomach, trying to shrink away from the prying eyes. The teasing continued, making me feel even more self-conscious. I took a deep breath, reminding myself that I was strong and unique. That's what Mum told me. "Hey, purple eyes! Are you a vampire?"Another child called out, causing the laughter to escal
"You're doing great," Lucas said in a low voice. "A natural at this."I was itching to yell at him. I was feeling more like a trophy Lucas had earned. The trio of girls turned to go. I turned to talk to Lucas, but once more there was an interruption. For the following thirty minutes, this continued. Everyone who came up to us gushed about me and mentioned my relationship with Lucas multiple times. By the time the last one arrived, I had met so many people that I was overcome with names."I'm sorry, I need some air." I turned and ran outside, still feeling the eyes on me.I paced on the front porch. I debated going for a run or at least back to Lucas's house, but I didn't know the way and would likely get lost. When the door behind me opened, I didn't look, knowing who it was.Lucas remarked, "So that didn't go as planned. Please hold me responsible. I ought to have given you a head-up, or at least made them space it out.""Warned me that everyone thinks I'm your new mate?" I asked, fe
Lucas -From the edges, I watched Kiana fight against her opponent with a mix of interest and disappointment. She wasn't as graceful as a trained fighter, and every move she made showed that she wasn't good at fighting. Even my beta, James, who is always quick with a sharp statement, couldn't help but say something about how badly she did."She's such a hopeless amateur," my beta scoffed, a tone of mockery colouring their words.Even though I knew Kiana wasn't very good at fighting, seeing how weak she was shocked me. It was time to put a hunch I had had for a while before the test. My strongest fighter was told to step forward and fight Kiana with a subtle signal. James raised an eyebrow and seemed to doubt my choice, but I gave him a confident nod.As the warrior closed in on Kiana, her struggles became more pronounced. Her attempts at defence seemed feeble, and it was almost painful to watch. I remained composed; however, my eyes focused on the unfolding drama. This was a crucial m
