Chapter Fifteen

Run:

Alice took off running full force into the trees. icicles falling from the branches as she pushed through the snow. Each step she took, she sunk into it. The snow reached up to her knees as she sank into it. She grabbed onto a low hanging tree limbing trying to help herself to move forward.

Maybe he broke his legs. Lenore huffed, trying to send another surge of strength to help her push forward.

Alice looked back over her shoulder. He had landed neatly in the snow, like it was nothing. She blinked when she fell in the snow, it stung, it burned; it hurt! IT didn't even phase him. He wasn't acting like he jumped out of a second story window. He raised his head up from his crouched position. His eyes gray like the dark hanging sky above them, locked with hers. He stood up straight towering above the snow, his dark shadow stretched outward over it. His eyes never left her as he began to move effortlessly.
