Elysia's pov

Damon turned towards me, his expression still unreadable. "If you want to be the CEO, Elysia, you're going to have to work for it. You'll start as my assistant, and we'll see how you handle the job. If you prove yourself, then maybe we can talk about making you the CEO."

I gritted my teeth, my fists still clenched. I couldn't believe that he was making me jump through all these hoops just to prove myself.

"I don't need your help, Damon," I spat out, my anger boiling over. "I can do this on my own. I don't need you to hold my hand and guide me through everything."

Damon's lips quirked up in a small smile. "Is that so? Well, then. I guess we'll see how well you do on your own."

He walked towards the door, turning back for a moment to add one final remark. "But just remember, Elysia. This is my company as much as it is yours. And I won't let you ruin it."
