Chapter 18 : Feelings

"Nowhere. I was just—", I stammered. "Thanks for the concern but I literally can't eat so much. Can you share?"

She scowled at me as if I was asking her to kill someone.

"I'll be traveling back home again. I don't wanna throw up the whole way", she grumbled, moving her eyes to the phone again.

"How do you even manage to go out with an empty stomach?", I asked. "I mean when you were in school or college"

"I never ate before leaving. I always had my meals an hour earlier", she added.

"Oh!", I muffled, continuing to eat.

"You should be lucky enough that your friend cares so much for you", she said.

"Friend? Kaif?", I exclaimed his name since he was my only friend right now.

"Yeah, he called me", she said. "On landline"

It shocked me. I gaped at her in disbelief.

She lifted her gaze and passed me a tight-lipped smile. He said that you wouldn't eat anything from the canteen. You would starve and you
