Help me, please!

Iris POV

It all happened so fast and subtly. It gave no signs of any danger or warning. I felt like my heart was going to jump right out of my chest as I looked around. The entire living room was on fire. I had been trapped inside and the flames seemed to be getting bigger by the second. Everywhere I looked there was smoke and fire, and I knew that I had to get out of there quickly but I needed to inform my family so we could all escape together.

I called for my step mother and siblings, but no one answered. I ran upstairs and looked through every room. No one was in their room. I could not help the tears that flowed. How could everyone leave so suddenly and without me? I was just in the kitchen a while back and everyone was in the Living room. Then, it hit me. They had all left me, including my own father.

The heat was unbearable and the smoke was making it hard for me to breathe. Everywhere I looked, furniture was burning and the walls were crumbling around me. I could hear the crackling of the flames and I knew that if I didn't escape soon, I would be caught in the inferno. My eyes were feeling so soggy and I tried to make my way to the door but the heat was so intense that I was forced to take cover behind a sofa. I could feel the heat coming through the fabric and I knew that I had to find a way out soon.

I ran back to the living room. My eyes were already closing. I could feel them.

"It must be the pressure from the smoke," I told myself.

The heat was unbearable as I stumbled through the blazing inferno. I could feel my skin sizzling from the intense heat, but I knew that I had to keep going. My heart raced as I frantically searched for a way out of this burning mansion. Smoke filled the air and the smell of burning wood and flames permeated my senses. I could hear the crackling of the fire as it engulfed the mansion and the sound of things crashing to the ground as the fire raged. My eyes were stinging from the smoke and I had trouble seeing, but I knew I had to keep looking. I had to find a way out. I had to survive. I stumbled through the hallway, coughing and choking on the smoke. Everything was so disorienting, and I had no idea which way to go.

After what seemed like an eternity, I found a window and tried to break it with my bare hands but I ended up hurting myself in the process. I hit the window with my fists and cried.

"Help me, please!" I cried out and yelled but no one answered. There was no response.

The heat was intense, the smoke was overwhelming. I was trapped in the mansion, the flames licking at my feet. I could feel the heat all around me, my skin prickling from the heat and my eyes streaming from the smoke. I tried to take deep breaths through my nose, but all I could taste was the stench of burning wood and melting paint.

I had no idea on how the fire started but it had quickly spread throughout the house. I had been searching for an escape, but the fire had quickly blocked off any hope of getting out. I was now trapped and could not figure a way out.

The smoke was so thick that I could barely see, but I could feel the heat of the flames on my skin. I finally found a door but I could not recall where it led to. I reached the door just as the fire started to consume it, and as I reached for the handle, intense heat seared my hand.

I screamed in pain and cried but the noise was drowned out by the crackling of the fire. I backed away from the door, my hand throbbing from the burns. I was trapped, and I had no way out. I was going to die here, in this mansion. My heart raced as the flames continued to spread, the heat and smoke making it impossible to breathe.

I stumbled through the burning house, searching for a way out, but there was none. I had to face the fact that I was going to die here.

With every passing second, I could feel my eyes closing and my strength fading. I mustered enough energy and screamed for help for the last time. "Someone, please help me. Anybody, please, help me!"

Suddenly, I heard a loud crash and I looked up to see that a part of the roof had caved in and everything I saw was empty. I closed my eyes and opened them back but I could only see darkness.

"What's happening to me? I can't see. I can't see. Help me please!" I yelled at the top of my voice and cried.

I crawled and felt something metal-like. I hugged it and waited for my impending doom.

"Who is inside?" I heard an aggressive voice call from outside.

I continued to cry and shout. "I can't see, please help me!" I heard footsteps and I felt the presence of two men.

"Who are you?" One of the men asked me and all I could do was sob. "I can't see anymore. Help me, please!"

"Don’t scream!" One of the men ordered.

They held my hands harshly and assisted me up while I placed my hands around their necks with their support. I could barely walk and my entire body ached. I could not see but I was certain my hands were filled with burns and it hurt. I decided to ignore the pain and I wondered where my entire family ran to and I still could not get over the fact that they left me in the fire.
