Chapter 51: Seraphina

SERAPHINA POV

I waited for the wolves on patrol to move to the next section of the border, before I ran over the border into my home’s pack lands. Luck had been on my side when I left this morning, with no one seeing me as I made my escape.

It had been much more complicated to leave Callan’s side than anticipated. The mate bond pulled me to stay with him. However, I pushed through my need to be with my mate, as saying goodbye to my dying father was way more important. I couldn’t think about the bond or the repercussions of my actions.

I made sure to keep my hood over my head as I made my way through the familiar woods of my childhood. After a long twenty minutes, I was finally in front of the packhouse.

Alya made her displeasure known by letting out sighs and huffs everyone once in a while.

‘I need to say goodbye to my father. It’s not like I am here for something fun.’
