Accepting

I moved in and out of consciousness as the sun bathed my room in light, then faded leaving me in the dark. My mind was a jumbled mess, filled with memories of my past and psychedelic dreams.

"My sweet, Dove." His voice was soft and his fingers felt like feathers gliding over my body. I swear Blake watched me as I slept for days, letting my body heal.

"Blake." I whispered. I needed him close to me. His presence filled me with purpose and I felt my body healing when he was close.

"I'm here, baby. You’re mine now, so don't leave me, little Dove."

"I don't want to. I'm so tired though."

"I know, baby. You did good for me the other night. You were everything I knew you would be. We have a lifetime together though." He kissed my hands and I smiled at the sweet gesture. He could be so cruel, then so perfect.

My eyes lids felt heavy as I tried to force them open. I wanted to see him, needed to know if he was really here.
