New Era

I sat beside a lake taking long breaths. I knew I couldn’t plead for my life again. This was beyond the goddess’ power and I’ve cheated death too many times. My hand moved over the small bump on my belly and tears fall down my cheeks. If I die, so do they. Would I ever know who they were, or do they become nothing since they were never born?
