“This isn’t true.” I mumbled as my feet fumbled over myself. Draconian was pissed and on a mission to get me as far from the pack house as possible. I understood his worry, but I couldn’t just leave.

“Where are my children? My family?”

“Your mother has them safe and off territory already. We will meet them at an ally pack’.”

“An ally pack? They are all here.” I was trying to get my mind to work as we ran down four flights of stairs. I wasn’t even sure how I could survive without Bolton, but I needed to get to my kids.

My hand went to my mark, remembering his touch to my skin. I could still feel him. “There’s no pain.”

“What?” Draconian looked back at me and the fear that crossed his face was unmistakable.

“It doesn’t burn. I can feel Bolton.”

“Sasha, he might have not completely died, but we can’t go out there. You’ll be killed in seconds. You have to let him go.” Draconian’s hands came to my arms. He looked at me lovingly, but with a deep longing.
