Truth or Lie

"Get the fuck up! I don't pay for you to live here for nothing!" My step dad, Stephen, screamed at my door.

"Be there in two minutes. Sorry!" I shouted back, turning off my alarm. I cried for hours last night then passed out. I guess I was so tired I didn't hear my alarm blaring out next to me.

I quickly jumped in the shower, washing just my body, then threw on a white shirt with a blue skirt and white sneakers. I had two minutes to be downstairs to start breakfast. Me and my six other siblings all had jobs to do around the house, and at our step-dad's appliance store, and his restaurant.

He wasn't a nice man, but he did pay the bills. My mother was still a gorgeous woman, but no one wanted her after my father's betrayal. She was fired from her job at the hospital and for over a year we barely got by. I still remember the way my stomach ached in pain for food as we would go days with none.

My stepfather took pity on my mom and agreed to mark her as his chosen mate. She had to do everything he said and so did we. I wasn't sure what was worse, starving for days or living with Stephen.

I smiled walking down the steps, remembering how Blake would sneak me food. He noticed how skinny I became and how easily I bruised from the beatings at school. He did nothing to stop what was happening, and sometimes even laughed along with everyone else, but when we were alone, he gave me his food and soft comfort to help me.

"Let's go you fucking runt!" He yelled at me from the table, slamming his hand down on it. My younger brother, Matt, grabbed our little sister's hand and ushered her out of the kitchen. He gave me a look of sadness as we all knew we couldn't do anything about our life.

For years we just coexisted together in a dark cloud of defeat. We weren't even allowed to speak in the house when he was home. We found little games to silently play, but mostly we just retired to our rooms and quietly stared at the walls. We weren't allowed books or TV. Luckily, I had a phone, a very old phone, but it gave me a way to secretly communicate with Blake.

Our youngest siblings had it the hardest though. They were just babies when our mom married Stephen and they never knew of a fun childhood or peaceful home, like it was before my father was killed.

"Of course, Stephen. I apologize." I bowed my head and ran to the fridge to grab some orange juice. Every morning he wanted juice, milk, three eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. Once he was done eating then the rest of us could eat.

After he finished scolding me for sleeping in, he finally left for work. I was so tired of that man. If I could leave I would, but I had nowhere to go. No money, no friends, no hope. I probably would have tried to rip my own heart out like everyone told me to do, but I had six younger siblings.

There wasn't much I could do for them though. I tried to keep Stephen's anger directed at me so they didn't have to bare as much. That was all I could offer them. I was worthless, weak, a runt, everything everyone said about me was true.

"Thank you, Sasha."

"It's nothing, mom."

"It's everything." Her eyes teared in guilt then quickly changed the subject. "Do you have a dress for tonight?"

Shit tonight! Would I go to him? My family wasn't allowed to attend, but I was offered an invitation to come as an offering. "Uhm, maybe, I'm not sure if I want to."

"You don't want to be an offering? Blake has always been smitten with you. There could be a chance." The hope for a better life glimmered in her eyes.

"I don't know. I haven't decided."

"You should try, dear. If you're not chosen then you come home and nothing changes. If you are chosen,  then you become Luna and all this shit your father left us is washed away." My mom looked at me like she was pleading for me to go. We all felt trapped with no way out in this life.

Not only would Blake choosing me make my problems go away, but all of ours. We would no longer be the family of a traitor; my siblings would be a family to their Luna. I should go and at least try for them.

"I'll try." I said lowly.

My mom kissed my cheek before heading out to work. Stephen gave her a job at his appliance store, but it was more to have a sexy woman on display to attract customers than anything else. She also didn't get to keep any of the money she was paid. It all went into his bank account for bills. She did have seven kids and I'm sure it cost a lot to care for us all.

I ran upstairs with eight minutes to spare for myself. There wasn't much I could do, so I threw my hair in a messy bun and grabbed my bag, then I ran to the bus stop.

I put my music on to drown out all the snickering and name calling as I rode the bus with all the freshman and sophomores. All the other students my age had cars to drive themselves. My family didn't have that kind of money though.

As I got off the bus my phone flashed low battery making me curse out loud. I needed my music to drown out the incessant name calling and bullying.

One new message flashed on top from my contact, Demon Wolf. I clicked it to open to see what Blake had to say when it turned off. Great!

Murmurs began swirling around me as I walked into school when yesterday came flooding back to me.

"She is such a slut."

"She is desperate and stupid."

"She can't even get laid. Whoever let her touch his dick made her come herself. No one wants to touch that dirty pussy."

I ran to my class in tears. How did I forget about the pictures Cynthia took?

The second my classroom was filled with students, everyone started in on me again. Our teacher didn't even stop them. All of my pack thought I deserved to be reminded of how pathetic I was because of what my father did.

I left my first class and headed straight to the bathroom. I wanted to leave, but if they called Stephen, my punishment would be worse at home than here at school. My stepdad knew whipping my younger siblings to teach them not to act like me was the worst of all.

As I left the bathroom I was pushed hard back through the doors. My ass hit the floor and I curled my body tight together. It was only a matter of time before I got my daily beating. There was an entire pack against me, so there was no use trying to fight back, I would never win.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Blake's voice made me jump. I looked up to him already crying.

"Are you going to hurt me?" I asked looking around.

He was alone so he should be nice to me, but the way he looked at me was like I was about to meet my own death.

He knelt down, grabbing my hair roughly and tilting my head back to look at him.

"Why the fuck are you ignoring my messages? I told you to meet me before school." He spoke with so much anger my wolf cowered down in shame.

"My phone died, I'm sorry."

He tugged my body to the side and reached into my pants to grab my phone. His jaw clenched at me like he was deciding what to do with me. I wasn't lying.

"I called for you and you weren't there. I should punish you for such disrespect."

"I'm sorry."

He picked me up and leaned me over the sink, then ripped my skirt and underwear down. All I could do was cry more. If Blake took my body right now, I would never find a chosen mate. Being a virgin was the only advantage I had. No one wanted a traitor's daughter or a weak omega.

Then his hand smack my ass hard. I gasped in tears looking up to the mirror. His hard body was tense, dark messy brown hair, and those gorgeous green eyes piercing my soul with anger. He looked like a feral beast behind me, deciding how to properly eat his prey. My body instantly relaxed and a deep need took over me. I needed him in every way.

"You come to me when I call you." He spoke with pure rage and spanked me again.

"Yes, Blake. I always do. I'm sorry."

He spanked me three more times then pulled my skirt up and fixed my clothes. He spun me around and made me sit on the counter. He smiled as I adjusted my ass from the sting I felt there.

"You will learn to behave, Raven. I can't choose you tonight if you are disobedient."

"Blake." I started to cry uncontrollably, unable to speak.

His arms wrapped around me and he spoke sweetly. "Calm yourself, Raven. You are mine and after tonight you won't have to worry about anyone else."

"Do you promise? I can't take it anymore, Blake. I need you." I kept crying into his shirt as his hand ran down my hair.

"I promise, Raven. Now be good for me and clean yourself up. You can't walk around like a crybaby. You need to be strong for me, for our pack." He pulled me off the sink and turned on the faucet. "Wash your face."

I bent over, gathering water in my hands to splash it over my swollen eyes.

"Good Raven. Calm yourself like I told you to. You need to be obedient, like a good omega is." His hand was rubbing my back and I felt so safe. My heart was slowing down and my breath became steadier.

"I'm sorry I missed your message, Blake. I would have come to you if I knew, I swear."

His lips brushed over mine. "Then come to me tonight and I will choose you. Do as I tell you and you won't have to live like this anymore. I'll help you, even though you are just an omega Raven, I'll help you and make you mine." He winked at me then walked out.

I smiled, watching his strong body walk away from me. Between my legs began throbbing to feel him and my wolf purred, encouraging me to go to him tonight. He was my Alpha, my friend. He would save me from all this. I needed to be good for him, trust him.

A few hours left of school then the events would start. I just needed to get through the next couple of hours and then this torment would all be over.

I can do this for him, for our pack. I had to do this for my family and I wanted to do this. I want Blake more than anything. No one ever made my heart skip a beat like his did. I needed Blake and I knew all would be fine in my life once he was mine.
