Same night ….

The two women immediately rushed to the closest police station to report the horrible scene they had just witnessed; it would probably haunt them for the rest of their lives.

" Calm down and tell us what happened ?" Said a policewoman who still couldn't believe what the women had reported. In her entire years of working as a policewoman, that was the first time someone had ever reported a case of a loose werewolf.

" I'm telling you, a werewolf attacked us in an alley, it killed two men, " they panted. For the sake of all conflict, the policewoman sighed. They asked the women to show them the scene of the incident and they were amazed. A woman was shot and two men whose necks had been ripped apart.

The cut looks sharp and precise thereby making it hard to believe that it was a wide animal that did but because they probably couldn't believe the women's claim, they ended up filing it as a case of a wide animal but that didn't explain why a woman was killed with a bullet so the police had to arrest the women.

Just like wildfire, the news was all over the internet and news channels the next day. Someone had filmed the whole scene when the women insisted it was a werewolf that killed those people and just like that, people started giving their theories on whether it was truly a werewolf or not.

But that was not the main problem that James was about to face, just like everyone else, the news also got to the elder wolves and the gang leader.

" My dear, please come sit with me, " James tapped on the couch space next to him. He didn't know how to break the news to his daughter but he had to do it.

" Father, what's wrong, did anything happen in the pack ?" She asked with a worried look on her face. The look on her face made James slightly tear up, she will surely feel betrayed by what he had done. He committed the crime and should be the one to face it alone.

" I didn't know what got into me, I just don't know " James started.

" What is it dad, I am starting to get worried," Lilith said with her voice raised slightly.

" To.. today, I saw some men harassing three women, I just couldn't allow those men to kill the women, I tried to resist the urge to help but my wolf proved stubborn, and in the next minute I found myself in front of them" he paused and tried to read his daughter's expression and as expected, she was very confused.

" So what happened ?" She asked.

" I.....I told them to leave the women alone but they didn't listen to me instead one of them shot one of the women, my wolf got angry and ….and, I…I …" he shuttered. Lilith became frustrated, why can't her father say everything at once and stop keeping her in suspense?

" And what ?" she yelled.

" I turned into a wolf and killed them." Lilith's eyes immediately widened, what did her father just say, kill?

" Humans?" she asked while keeping her fingers crossed that it was not what she was thinking. James didn't say anything but nodded his answer.

Lilith felt like dying, she knew the punishment given to any wolf that exposes themselves to humans and the punishment for killing a human. She was not ready to lose her father at an early age but why did he have to be so careless?

He had been the one teaching her how to be a noble wolf so she won't get in trouble with the elder wolves but there he was, inviting trouble to himself. There's no way the elder wolves will not come looking for him except if he can erase any evidence that would point to him.

" Did anyone else see you apart from the ones you killed ?" She asked. Again, James said nothing but nodded his answer.

" Are they also humans?" She asked.

" Yes, they escaped before I could get to them and a wolf also saw me, he is the next Alpha of the Dark Moon pack " James blurted out for Lilith's eyes to widen more. A wolf also saw him.

" What do you plan on doing now? " She asked. This was the question James had been waiting for her to ask. It was the moment of truth on whether or not she would do anything to save him.

" Honey, this is where you will come in " Lilith didn't say anything but waited for whatever he was about to say. For all she knew, there was nothing she could do to save him.

" The humans will not be a problem but the wolf had promised not to expose me if I let him mark you as his mate.".

Lilith immediately stood up from her seat and looked at her father in confusion. What was he talking apart? She was too young to be called someone's mate and she was not ready to be caged to a wolf. She loved her father and could do anything for him but what he had asked of her was too much

" What are you talking about, how do you expect me to do that ? " she asked.

" Please do this for me, this is the only way I can escape death from the elder wolves, please dear " he pleased almost bringing his knees to the floor. Lilith immediately stopped him and saw him back on the couch.

" Father, you know what it means for a wolf to mark another wolf, I will forever be bonded to him even after death. " she tried to reason with her father but he still maintained his pleading look.

" Please dear, this is the only way," he said again.

Lilith sighed, it seemed she has to do what her father had asked of her. There it goes, her will to ever have a mate of her choice because of her father's silly mistake.

She can't possibly let her father die when she knows she could stop it, it will forever haunt her if that ever happens.

" Okay I agree so when do I see this dubious wolf that took advantage of you ?" she asked.

James smiled, he knew that with the right acting skill, he would be able to convince her into agreeing to be Isaac's mate. That was one of the reasons he loved her, her love for him was on a very high scale and he somewhat felt guilty that he had taken advantage of it.

"Tomorrow, he asked that you come tomorrow, and he will mark you at his house, you don't have to worry, it is not so painful, it will only sting a little," James said with a beautiful smile on his face.

Lilith sighed and went to her room to pack her belongings since she would be living with a wolf that was not her father for the first time since she was born.

If only her mother was here, her father told her that her mother left him for a much stronger wolf and that was possible because her father didn't mark her mother. This was why many wolves had decide on marking themselves so cases like what happened between her parents will never happen again.
