I took a moment to scrutinize Liam's face to see any hint of deception but all I saw was concern which made me feel uncomfortable.

My heart was not settled and I could tell that apart from what Liam told me, he was hiding more. I didn't have the energy to question, nor was he entitled to answer. I looked away.
