Chapter 11

Jasmine walked down the grand staircase that served as a route to the ground floor and the up floors.

There were three floors in the building and she had only seen two. The third floor and the first floor. She walked down the stairs leading to the second floor.

As expected, it was even more breathtaking than the first floor. There was a large open space. The gray curtains were tied back to let the sunshine pierce through the windows. There was a gold-looking, brass candle bar which hung in each corner of the wall. They each held three candles. She couldn’t help but commend Ryland’s good taste in fashion.

There were two doors on the far wall and she kind of wondered where they led to. She imagined them to be the rooms where Ryland did some of his dirty jobs. He wasn’t a saint either way, so he probably had something up his sleeve.

The room was so big that a large ball could be held in it. But again she was curious if Ryland lived alone in such a place. Did Ryland have family members
