GEORGE'S POV

"I knew it," I spat, my voice dripping with venom. My words resounded off the walls, echoing the frustration that had built up inside me.

Paris, her face, a mask of concern, followed closely behind me. She knew I was reeling on the threshold, that it would take just one more push for me to tip over into uproar.
