Enemy in The Blanket

"Dad," said Xavier as soon as he reached the living room. He looked here and there, looking for his mother. "Where's Mom?" Xavier asked.

"Mommy is at home. Raylin just got home," answered Jacob.

Xavier nodded his head. He sat in front of his father, waiting for what his father would say.

"Be honest with Dad, Xavier. Did you deal with Constantin?" Jacob asked, looking intently at his son.

"He invaded my territory first, Dad," Xavier replied casually.

"Did James' death have anything to do with this?" Jacob asked again.

Xavier didn't answer, but from the look in Jacob's eyes, he was sure that his guess was right. This made Jacob sigh softly, his body leaning back against the sofa.

"Supposedly, you just need to carry on Daddy's efforts, why do you have to deal with such a cursed thing? Daddy's sure, if Mommy finds out about this she'll be mad at you." Jacob gave his son understanding.

"Never mind, Dad. You don't have to interfere, the most important thing is that I don't use that stuff. I just follow the market, because here I'm still new to that stuff." Again, Xavier answered casually.

Jacob, who already knew his son's character, finally gave up on giving advice. He stood up, straightened his coat, and looked at Xavier.

"Be careful, Constantin isn't just any opponent. You have to anticipate every move you make."

Xavier nodded listening to his father's words, he also stood up, escorting his father to the door.

"Go home, your sister misses you very much." Jacob turned to Xavier before he got into the car.

Again Xavier just nodded, he immediately went inside and met one of his men. His men reported that Alexander had regained consciousness. This made Xavier immediately walk to the back house, where his men lived there.

When Xavier went inside, it turned out that Noah was already there. Noah sat next to Alexander. Seeing his boss coming, Noah immediately stood up to greet him.

"Are you feeling better, Alex?" asked Xavier who immediately sat down where Noah had been.

"I feel good, Sir," replied Alexander.

Xavier nodded, he folded his arms across his chest. Even though one of his arms still hurt, he ignored it. "Can you tell me what happened to you last night?" Xavier asked.

Alexander looked thoughtful before he said, "James and I found a door next to a leafy tree next to the mansion. We were about to enter when we heard gunshots." Alexander seemed to sigh slowly. "I decided to stay inside, and didn't know if James had turned away. When I turned around, I couldn't find James anymore." Alexander explains everything he went through.

Xavier and Noah always listened, between them, Noah somehow felt that Alexander was hiding something with them.

"I was careless not thinking about the situation, stupidly I shouted for James. As a result, I was caught and started being chased by the guards. I ran into the forest, but unfortunately, there were so many of them. The guard beat me, and after that, I don't remember anything because I fainted," Alexander said.

"Do you know what happened to James?" asked Noah glaring at Alexander.

While Alexander only shook his head weakly, he stared at Noah for a while before lowering his head again.

"He's dead!" Noah said that in one breath. His chest rumbled with anger every time he remembered that James died at the hands of the enemy.

Alexander looked up with the shocked face he made. His mouth opened to say something, but Xavier quickly interrupted.

"Get some rest, when you get better you should go back to work."

Alexander nodded, he let Xavier and Noah go from there. After the door closed, the smile he had been suppressing for so long came out as well. The joy in his heart was pounding when he remembered how last night he killed James with his own hands.

Alexander felt the protruding part of his armpit, it was a bug that was implanted in his body. With this tool, he can tell everyone the situation he is in, without having to bother using his cellphone. In his heart, he smiled with satisfaction. Imagining how Xavier would lose at the hands of the enemy.
