Wolf’s muscles become tense at my question. His eyes slowly move to mine and he instantly looks away as if he is scared that he won’t be able to tell me anything if he continues looking at me.
“ Uh—Wolves don’t usually leave their territories…you know. ” His voice is a mere whisper, not that usual powerful and dominating at all.
“ You are hiding something right? ” I muse, a smile threatening to break on my lips.
His ears turn red and his eyes become wide. I caught him,.
“ Yes. ” He blurts, keeping his gaze fixed at the wall. Then, he instantly corrects himself. “ I mean No. Of course not. I am not hiding anything. ”
“ Believable.” I whisper, the smile finally spreading on my lips.
A wave of pain travels up my left arm, reminding me of my condition and my smile falls.
