Chapter 13

Evelyn was cooking in the kitchen, her eyes downcast as she stirred the boiling pot. She heard the sound of footsteps and looked up to see Dianna walking in. Evelyn's heart dropped, she knew Dianna was here to cause trouble.

"Hello soon to be ex-wife," Dianna mocked, a cruel glint in her eyes. "I hope you know that Alaric is going to divorce you soon." She added, "Since he doesn't love you anymore."

Evelyn, feeling a surge of anger, clenched her teeth but remained silent, not wanting to engage in any argument with Dianna. She tried to focus on the cooking, but Dianna kept taunting her.

"What happened to you now?" Dianna sneered. "Last day you were quite bold."

Evelyn took a deep breath, trying to maintain her composure. "I have nothing to say to you, Ms. East. I suggest you leave before things escalate."

Dianna's eyes burned with rage, and she stepped closer to Evelyn. "How dare you ignore me, bitch?" Dianna spat, grabbing Evelyn's hand roughly and spinning her around.
