2) Shane

Shane Reynolds was an Englishman raised in the islands. His father was a pirate and he took over after his father. When his mother was murdered, Shane avenged her, but that incident labeled him the most feared pirate on the high seas. He enjoyed knowing no one would start a fight with him and he treasured this and made sure to keep the fear alive with each ship he sacked and sank. At port one night, heard of the ghost ship along with some other things.

Captain Shane Reynolds once was the most feared pirate on the seven seas and most days, he still was. However, there was another pirate whose name was more feared than his own and he vowed to hunt him down. Problem was, no one has ever lived to tell the tale of Captain Reddick of the White Wolf. A few letters had been found telling of a deserted ship. The only life on board is a woman chained and blindfolded in the captain’s cabin. The girl is always rescued, but the ship was now notorious for being a ghost ship. Shane scoffed at this, he didn’t believe in the supernatural. He just figured it was an ugly and disfigured man, but no ghost or monster.

Shane continued from port to port searching for the location the White Wolf called home. He was determined to find this ghost and restore his name on the high seas. Shane grew more frustrated as he searched and came up with nothing. His crew began to think he was chasing ghost stories. He was like a mad man searching and couldn't figure out who it belonged to. There was a rumor that a ship named The White Wolf was owned by Kevin Reddick, but he was known to be dead, which is where the ghost stories came from. They said it was Kevin looking for Pierre to finish him off for what he had done and people tried to stay away from it. Shane just wanted to know where the damn thing made birth and wanted to prove these stories false. In truth, he had no idea what he was getting himself into.

Kiera was much like Kevin and when in London, the ship was known by a different name. In London, everyone knew the merchantman as Red Reddick. Out at sea, she took up Kevin’s base in the islands. She was always between the island and London until her nephew came of age. He found out about her and the secret she and Kevin shared and that she was much better than the London elite. When he came of age, she signed everything over to him except the shipping company.  Gregory insisted she keeps all that as Kevin would have wanted. He swore to her that no one would ever hear of the secret from him as long as he lived. He also told her to keep the townhouse, he preferred the country estate. . Marvin came in during discussions and warned her of Captain Shane. She ordered the crew to be ready in a few days.

“What’s happening?”

“It appears another captain is hunting me down.”

“And you must leave?”

“The last thing I want is for him to locate me here and put anyone in danger.”

“Will you come back?”

“Of course. I must take care of this other captain first. I won’t leave you to manage all this alone.”

“Thanks. Be safe, Aunt Kiera. Write as often as you can.”

“I will.”

Kiera knew what she would do. Pose as a captive and let Shane rescue her. It’s how they pulled off many raids and kills. It took some time and after three years, the island had become home. The crew had families with the local natives, and they traded with neighboring islands and when they needed to go to the mainland, Kiera was a lady again. Gregory reminded her often that she still had a home in London waiting for her.

Kiera grew tired of Shane looking and sent out a lead of her own whereabouts. The crew would hide in the panels and she would play the victim. Marvin chained her up and blindfolded her and joined the rest of the crew. The Emerald came into view and boarded the White Wolf. The captain and crew felt a shiver as the ship looked deserted. Shane ordered the ship be searched and went to the captain’s cabin. Inside, he saw something that was true to the stories.
