Chapter Seventeen

Veronica---

"What sacrifice did Veronica make for me? What is going on?" Vickie asked and both my mom and I freeze, when did she get here? and most especially how much she hears.

Is everything finally out? Did she know about Rafael and me? How bad can tonight get?

"Mom" She faced our mother, waiting for her reply, I stared at Rafael and he shakes his head. What was that for? Does it mean Vickie doesn't know or I shouldn't tell more lies?

Whatever it is, I could tell it isn't good. Should I just tell Vickie everything, and confess to her, will that be ok?

"Darling," My mom said and walked closer to her, as she placed her palm under her cheeks, caressing her face.

"It is nothing, what did you think your sister and I are talking about?"

This is a trick, for Mom to know how much Vickie knows. Why didn't I see it? How manipulative she was? I thought Dad was the worst, but my mom is no good either.
