Chapter 1

It was dark and cold. There was an occasional howl of the blowing wind entering the room and the smell of rust was evident in the air. The room was old and it can be said that the room was made for torturing people.

There were several chains and some pile of bones on the ground telling that the very space was really use for such stuff. It was then when the silence crept in and the wind stopped blowing, a faint sound of breathing could be heard in the distance. The darkness was eventually lit by a gloomy candle in the corner and a pale yet pristine complexion was revealed. The soft clanging of chains could be heard as the body sway slowly.

After the howling noise left, the person was unconsciously alarmed by a sound of a heavy clang of metal piece that rolled from the edge of the window into the surface. The quietness seems to be interrupted and the person who seems to be sleeping had woken up.

Hellion slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was dim and blurry probably because of a long time sleep. Her head hurts and her arms seems to be numb. Hellion blinked her eyes, trying to get a clear view of the room.

She inhaled weakly as she blinked her eyes until she finally get a clear picture of the room. The room was slightly dark and shabby. Hellion tried to move her arm, aiming to brush away the hair blocking her line of sight.

A while after, she heard a clang as the arm she was trying to move was spread open and wide and she realized that it was actually bounded by chains.

Hellion struggled a bit and there she realized the bottom of her feet didn’t touch the ground. Her whole body flail in the air as the harsh clanking sound echoed in the silent room.

Some time after, she got exhausted. Her body weakly swayed a bit as she lowered her head. Sweat dripping down on her face as the cold wind creeped into her skin making her tremble a bit.

‘Where am I?’

Hellion glanced around the room, there was a door on her front and a table with a chair on the corner next to her. A cup and a kettle on top of it and nothing else.

The room seems to be old, few cracks were painted on the wall as the ceiling was adorned with molds. Hellion glanced at the chains and saw that it was pinned on the old wall. If she used a bit of force, she could release herself. Hellion pulled her hand towards her and tried to shake off the chains.

She keep on pulling the chains for quite some time and felt her strength draining out. The wall is still hard and her strength was too weak. She can’t break free.

Hellion felt a sting on her head and soon her head throbbed making her let out a painful scream. She turned her head frantically as she forcefully pulled her hand towards her head.

The throbbing won’t stop and she scream repeatedly on the room like a crazy madman. Hellion gritted her teeth as she tried to pulled hard on her arms. The wall cracked a bit on her side. Hellion turned towards the wall and let out a small laugh. She pulled the shackle hard, her laugh getting louder and louder as the crack expands.

Hellion inhaled deep and exerted her strength on her arm. After gathering her strength, she did one hard pull on her arm, not minding the sound of her bone breaking.

She then heard loud clanking sound as the clutch were finally dug out from the wall. She eyed the chain on the ground and slowly lifted her unrestricted hand. The numbness were still there and the weight of the chains were unbearably heavy. However, Hellion didn’t care. She raised her hand and swipe her bangs away from her eyes.

Hellion then saw a shadow in front of her as the very silhouette blocks the doorway. She squinted her eyes as she stared at the black smoke. The figure didn’t move but she could feel its gaze were focused on her.

Hellion opened her mouth and called out with a hoarse voice. Her word sounded like a whisper. “Hey…”

The figure didn’t move and Hellion felt her throat parching up. She glanced at the cup on the table and look back at the shadow, her eyes pleading.

However, the shadow still didn’t move and Hellion finally lose her patience. She kicked on her legs and tried to huddle her feet towards her body but it was worthless. The chain didn’t budge in the slightest bit and the chain were hardly pinned on the wall.

Hellion tried freeing her other limbs but her strength was already drained. She panted heavily as she gulped hard. Her throat was totally dry and her tongue was begging to dangle.

She glared at the shadow in front of her. How heartless he is to just watch her struggling like this. Hellion choked. Her heart felt tight and it worsen her breathing even more. She felt so powerless. She can’t even get mad.

Hellion exhaled and lowered her head. She don’t know where she is or why was she trapped. Her head was throbbing and she couldn’t remember anything at all. How can this be?

Hellion wrinkled her brow, trying to think about the last thing she could remember but there was nothing at all. Her mind was completely blank and empty. It seems like she really hit her head hard.

She eventually felt hopeless as the time goes by. She really couldn’t remember anything at all.

After a stretch of time, she sense the shadow move. She quickly fixed her gaze on the door that was being pushed opened from the other side. The door give a harsh screech on the ground as the thick edges were being pushed forward. Her heart thumped loud on her chest as the anticipation sink into her nerves. She cautiously eyed the shadow moving inch by inch away from the door.

She then saw lights coming from the other side, her eyes beamed brightly as the thought rings repeatedly on her head. She’s finally saved!

The screeching sound stops halfway, a small gap formed between the door and the wall. Hellion heard a rough breathing on the other side. It seems her savior were only resting for a bit.

Hellion shifted a bit making the chains clatter on the ground. She then heard a paused breathing, followed by a guy’s voice coming from the door.

“Is anyone there?”

Hellion opened her mouth and shout back. Her voice was cut in an awkward manner.

“—elp me!”

Hellion suddenly felt tired after squeezing the words. It looks like she’d passed out any moment soon. Hellion blinked her eyes hard as she tried to keep her mind awake. She then heard a response on the other side, shouting back at her.

“Hold on. I’ll try to open the door!”

Hellion lifted her lips into a weak smile, her vision fading and the harsh screeching sound was slowly escaping from her ears. Hellion look at the door and saw a hazy vision of a man running towards her. She then saw the shadow moved and after that, blood was sprinkled on the floor. She blinked her eyes slowly as she lowered her head trembling. The image in front of her then became distorted.

She weakly cried out as a man covered in blood walk towards her slowly. Hellion saw the man’s steps paused in front of her and let out a soft smile. She then muttered as she gradually lost consciousness.

“Thank you.”
