Chapter 6

As I'm waiting for my Uber I hear a throat being cleared behind me, looking over my shoulder I see it's Christopher. "What do you want Chris just leave me alone" I roll my eyes looking back at the street taking a step closer to the curb sending him a hint to just leave and to get a better look down the street since its a one way and busy at this time of night.

"Sasha fuck I'm sorry okay” I hear him sigh behind me “I've had a few drinks and just fuck I'm sorry I didn't mean to act like a prick" I want to believe him because I've seen many sides of him in the two short encounters we've had and I know he’s right he has had a few drinks and I can hear it in his voice.

"Apology accepted now just leave me alone" I softly say loosing all my confidence while rubbing my arm were he had grabbed me.

Chris’s eyes follow my movements and he takes a step closer with an out stretched hand as if he wanted to touch my arm but he drops his hand and puts them in his front pants pockets looking down at the dirty Portland side walk.

"Fuck Sasha I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you. I was” he takes a beep breath then continues to finish what he was saying “I was just caught of guard seeing you here”. I don’t answer just keep rubbing my arm and check my phone to see how much longer it says tell my Uber arrives.

"Are you okay, let me see" Chris softly asks grabbing the hand that’s rubbing my sore arm pulling me closer to him.

“I’m sorry Sasha I shouldn’t of grabbed you like that” Chris brings me closer to him wrapping his warm arms around my shoulders in some sort of hug “If you can give me another chance I promise I'll never hurt you like this again” his warm breath hits my forehead followed by his soft lips.

His softly kiss and sweet action makes everything I was just feeling melt away like it wasn’t even there to begin with. All the anger, all the hurt, all the unanswered questions I had just melted away with the small affectionate action of his lips on my forehead and his warm arms around my shoulders.

I know I shouldn’t of let what he did and what he said slide so easily but he was the first actual nice guy I've meet in a long time and in a city like Portland their a rare find.

Most of the good men are either gay or men who are already taken and are just looking for a new flavor to have some fun with.

While their wife’s are either superficial princesses who do palatize and yoga with their so called friends or they are controlling and have their husbands balls around their necks like some prized jewel.

Don’t get me wrong their are some good eggs out there but the one’s that are out there are the ones that are not and I mean are not looking for a average girl like me, they want super model types or the type of girls who do their makeup and dress cute, they don’t want or look twice at girls like me and if they have they sure as hell haven’t said anything.

Then again I usually have my head in a book or my eyes glued to the never changing view from 82nd to Old Town China Town to pay attention to any guys that might or not be looking at me.

I’m the type of girl that would probably brake out in hives or have some type of extreme anxiety attack trying to figure out what half of the stuff is or how to use the brushes and sponges and just everything they use now a days to do their hair and make up.

I’m the type of girl that sticks to sneakers, boots and jeans every now and then the occasional summer dress maybe a cute pair of shorts with a t-shirt or tank top.

I’m the type of girl who knows how to do a good winged liner and wears a small amount of lip gloss with a little glitter if I’m feeling girly which is almost never.

I’m the type of girl that would break her ankle if she wore any kind of heel higher then two or three inches and that’s pushing it.

Im the type of girl that hates the way she looks in most dresses and skirts.

I’m the type of girl who rolls out of bed and just tosses her hair into a messy bun on top of her head and goes. Yes with out brushing it.

A soft kiss on my cheek pulls me out of my thoughts at the same time my phone pings notifying me that my Uber is here.

“It was nice seeing you again, even if it wasn’t as nice at first” I tell him as I walk over to the left passenger side door.

“This time I promise I will call you okay” Chris gives me another kiss on the cheek and opens the car door for me, waiting for me to be seated “Get home safe Sasha and I’ll call you in the morning” he says I’m a reassuring manner leaning in giving me a soft peek on the lips then closes the door once he’s standing straight again.

I watch out the back window as he gets further out of site still feeling the warmth from his lips on mine.

The Uber drops me off outside my house and I walk in turning on the lights, doing my usual routine of checking all the doors and windows then I head to bed.
