Chapter 7

Chris P.O.V

Parking my truck a block away from the Downtown police station I put a dolor into the meter then walk tell I've reached the main entrance. Taking a deep breath already knowing how it’s going to go I walk up the front steps and through the steel and glass doors.

This has been my routine for the last three and a half years after my little sister V went missing and the Detective stoped answering my calls.

I’ve come down here once a week for the last three and a half years and not once have I been able to speck with the so called Detective that’s supposable been working the case, every time I come here I'm told that he’s not available or he’s not in or some bullshit excuse about he’s busy.

“Fucking pigs I swear. What the fuck do these assholes do all day and night jerk off” I come out muttering and cursing the fat fuck I've come to know as officer Knott.

Walking down the steps I see a small girl sitting on one of the benches. I take a seat next to her getting a look at her cute side profile, she has a cute round face with a small nose and what seem to be soft pink lips.

“Long night” I ask the girl making her jump a bit letting me know that she didn’t know I was there or didn’t expect me to talk to her.

“Something like that” she answers back not looking in my direction her eyes still forward, she keeps looking this way and that way at the street in front of us as if waiting for someone. She could be waiting for the Tri-Met which should start running in the next few hours.

Downtown Portland is known for druggies, hookers as well as homeless people but this girl doesn’t look homeless and I don’t think she’s a hooker or druggie so I'm guessing by the scratches and dry blood on her bottom lip and bruises on her face she was attacked or beaten and came here for help but didn’t get it.

I strike up a conversation with the girl and find out her names Sasha Phillips and she was indeed attacked and told the assholes in blue in the building behind me couldn’t help her because she didn’t see who attacked her which is fucking bullshit .

Their so called mantra is to serve and protect but when it comes to actually doing their jobs and protecting victims they sit on their asses.

Sasha isn’t the type of girl I would normally go for but she’s cute and easy to talk to which now a days is a good quality to have. Now a days girls only talk about themselves and are high maintenance.

Like the girl I’m currently dating and have been dating. If Raquel found me talking to some other girl she would flip her shit so when I asked Sasha for her number I saved in under my good friend Jessi’s name since he just changed his number and I know for a fact that Raquel can’t stand him and wouldn’t think twice about it.

After waving Sasha off I head back to my truck and drive home.

“Where have you been” comes Raquels annoying ass voice. I've been dating her for the last six year, why I'm still with her is a mystery to me because I can’t stand the gold digging bitch but here she is still living in my house and sleeping in my bed.

“Out” is my short answer to the same question I’ve been asked every day if I come home a little later then she thinks I should be.

Raquel and I meet when my sister Cassandra invited me to hang out with her and some of her friends one night. Raquel happened to be one of Cassandras friends at first we didn’t hit it off but after a few drinks she grew on me.

We kept our relationship hidden for a few months until Raquel found out she was pregnant and of course my sisters all flipped their shit and made me step up and take care of the girl I had lost the want for, plus I wasn’t even sure the baby was mine.

Raquel was almost six months pregnant when she lost the baby and out of pity I stayed by her side and here we are still six years later and I can honestly say that I hate the bitch more then I should giving our history together.

“Out with who” here we go again every time I leave the fucking house she has to start her shit.

In an instant she’s standing in front of me and my hands are wrapped around her neck, she scratches at my arms and her face starts to turn red, I watch as her eyes start to get heavy and she starts to stop fighting, but just before her body goes slack I let her go and she falls to the carpeted floor.

“Look what you pushed me to do you fucking bitch, pack you shit and get out and let this be a warning that if you come back or I see you around me again I will fucking kill you” my voice is cold and I make sure she can feel the chill that drips off every word.

Raquel jumps up on weak wobbly legs and rushes to the room and then rushes back out with her face stained with mascara, a bag over her left shoulder, pulling the same beaten old blue suitcase she had when she first moved in four years ago with her right.

“YOUR GOING TO REGRET THIS CHRISTOPHER” the salty bitch yells while she opens the door with her free hand then slams it closed behind her once she’s outside.
