Demestic violance is somthing we try to hid and shouldn't.I grew up in Portland Oregon and know first had that horrifing things like the ones depicted in this story become nothing more then another tragic news story from one day to the next leaving the victims and their families feeling nothing but frustraction and anger.the Portland Police do have a few good officers and detectives who have and will continue to dedicate their lives to do just as their mato declairs "Serve and Protect" this is no way a bashing of the police deparment just a shout out to bring awareness to the many situations they fail to see or turn a blind eye to.Please if you or someone you know are in a situation where it is unsafe for you or your loved ones ask for help.

The only sound that could be heard was of my frantically beating heartbeat as I run through the dead streets of downtown Portland Oregon. The crisp night air stung my face and lungs as I ran for safety far away from where I just was.I had just left work and was walking my usual route to the max station known as OldTown China Town when someone came up behind me and hit me in the back of the head knocking me to the ground with a thud. I yelled out into the night hoping that someone might hear me over the shrill cries of the max line in the distance but not one person came to my rescue, not one person out of the few that lingered around the back alleys know doubt stuck in their own worlds cared to investigate or come to my aid. All I could do is wait, all that was left for me to do is wait for the right moment to try and get away. Walking back to the police station on wobbly legs the two blocks I had to walk to find the payphone in the first place i take a seat and wait for Tommy.“You cant sleep her miss” a gruff voice yells down the stairs in my direction. “I’m not fucking sleeping I'm waiting for help and a ride home since you so called officers failed to do your jobs and help me or take me home as you should have” rude I know but I could care less at this point I came here to ask for help and they treated me like I was nothing and refused to help me as they should have.“If in an hour your still sitting there I will arrest you for loitering” the officer says as he walks away. It’s been a week since the incident outside of work and my boss Fred was kind enough to give me the week off to heal and rest. It’s also been a week sense I meet Chris and he hasn’t messaged or called me once to check on me or even just to talk. I’m laying in bed with the cover over my head ignoring the ringing of my alarm clock at the same time I’m trying to block out the light that shines through the sheer curtains I made the mistake of buying because I thought they were cute and fit the aesthetic of my small room. Christopher was not expecting me to come off as rude or cold as I did and I can tell by the look on his face he was quick to masks which changed his whole demeanor. For the rest of the week after we had lunch I busied myself with work and enrolling into community college to maybe start pre law classes in the spring.
