“If you don’t find that lich before these pups are born, what are we going to do when he comes for the first one?” I ask Dominic with tears in my eyes and so much fear in my heart right now that sometimes I wish I had never gotten pregnant at all. Losing even one might kill me, when the depression hits and I realize that it is all my fault.  All because I couldn’t stand to live without him, I could end up losing it all.  Because when the lich comes for my baby, Dominic is planning on trying to kill him, in that moment he might lose his own life instead.  Then what was the purpose of any of this if he isn’t here to share it all with?This whole time, I have been dreading the babies’ arrival, because I know that the lich will come soon after.  Shaking my head, I sit still on the stool while waiting for Dominic’s answer.  When he doesn’t answer right away, the tears start to flow steadily down

“Here’s mommy.” Dominic says softly in the cutest voice possible when he hands me the first of the five. He smiles so sweetly and then stares at us while I feed him.  Looking up into his green eyes, I see the love there, that for so long yearned for.  Pointing to him, I say in a whisper to the little one in my arms, “Your daddy loves you so much he gave his own soul to keep you around.  Now that is the greatest love one can bestow on anyone.”Gazing down at the sweetest, most handsome little thing ever, I watch as his bluer than blue eyes twinkle in the light and his lips form a smile, where dimples are showing.  He wriggles around in my arms and then I could swear that he winked at me.  I giggle and then smile again before watching him suckle on me.  This little one wastes no time because the minute he was in my arms, he found my nipple and latched onto it.Turning to Dominic, I smile a huge smil

“Oh, my goodness.  Dominic, come here quickly.  The pups are already crawling, and Joshua just said his first word.  I gesture for Dominic to hurry over so I can show him.  Then I start to tickle Joshua while holding him in my arms, before asking him sweetly in my mommy voice, “Joshua, what do we say to daddy?”He giggles and then glances between Dominic and me before stating proudly, “Daddy, daddy.” In the cutest little boy’s voice, I have ever heard in my life.Dominic instantly smiles and grabs him from my hands as he raises him up in the air and pretends that he is an airplane.  “Vroom.” He says as he flies him in circles before landing on the ground safely. I smile and then giggle because I can’t help how adorable the whole scene is.  Especially when Dominic turns to me now and scoops me up into his arms.  He gazes into my eyes and says, “I have arranged for

“Knock”“Knock”I open my eyes to see if Dominic ever came back to the room last night.  When I realize that he hadn’t, I climb out of bed and throw on my robe.  I smell the distinct aroma of bacon from downstairs and the minute I smell it, my stomach starts growling. After I walk to the door, the knocking stops for a second and I grip the handle before opening it.  Just as I turn the knob, the knocking starts again, and it makes me jump when I startle.  I say with a raised voice, “Hold on, let me open it.”When I pull it towards me, I see Monique standing there with my breakfast.  “Here you go, I have brought this up for you.  How are you feeling this morning?” She smiles before walking in and placing it on the table in front of me.“Oh, thank you so much.  How did you know I was so hungry?  The minute I smelled the bacon, my stomach was growl

After he brings me to the bedroom, we sit there and talk for a few minutes when we hear a knock on the window from outside.  We glance at each other, before he stands up and quickly rushes to the window.  Seeing my father outside, he seems confused until I walk over and open it. He climbs in with Alina in his arms and when I see her, she already looks bigger than she did a couple hours before.  I cock my head to ask, “Did she get bigger already?” Glancing between my father and Dominic before taking Alina and waiting for an answer.The minute she reaches for me, I feel my heart ache just knowing that I had given her away.  I can’t believe that I could think this would be the answer when it was right in front of me the whole time.  Surely, she can live off the animals in the woods and the ones we raise.  Then after she drains them, we can use the meat for everyone else.  A win, win situation.“Yes, s
