1 #Cheated in love

Luna

I'm torn between whom to despise more: Levi and Sabrina for betraying my trust and being unfaithful, or myself for failing to see through their deceitful facade.

I sighed heavily as I tilted back a large jug of beer, the amber liquid flowing down my throat.

I should have realized they were cheating on me in secret. I should have known. Why is it that only misfortune finds me? I hate when everyone who is important to me in life eventually cheats on me.

“I hate all of you," I mumbled, laying my head on the countertop and sinking down in my misery. The weight of betrayal and heartbreak felt suffocating as I drowned my sorrows in alcohol. It seemed like a never-ending cycle of disappointment, leaving me questioning my own judgment and the worthiness of love.

Desperation filled my voice as I whispered, "When will I find someone who won't break me?"

I don’t want to wake up; all I want is for this to be a bad dream and nothing else. I don't want to see Levi cheating, and I don't want Sabrina, my best friend, to break my trust by sleeping with my boyfriend. I don’t want a life where I’m alone with no one by my side. I want love. I want a family of my own.

I asked the bartender for another beer to drown my sorrows. Heartbreak consumed me, driving me to seek solace in another drink to dull the ache within.

A voice from my left said, "I don't think you should have another drink."

I turned my head, staring at a handsome stranger who seemed to be staring at me nonstop. "Who do you think you are?" I challenged, bringing the jug to my lips, only to have it snatched away before I could drink.

"Give that back!" I demanded, reaching for it, but his grip remained steadfast.

“Calm down; drinking is not always the solution to escape from your problems.” He said, taking a sip of the beer he took away from me. “If you want, I can ease your pain a bit,” he smirks, with his fingers touching the palm of my hands.

I withdrew my hands from his touch, a mix of anger and confusion swirling within me. "I don't need your help," I snapped, my voice trembling slightly.

I shook my head. Even if I am drunk as hell, I can’t let this man take advantage of me. "Leave me alone." I stood up from the barstool, my vision slightly blurred from the alcohol.

"Wait, you can't leave now,” he said, grabbing my hand and pulling me to him. I struggled against his grip, my heart pounding in my chest.

“Leave me alone,” I said, punching his chest, but he was too bucky for me to handle, and my fist started throbbing just from a punch. He smirked, tightening his grip on my hand. Panic surged through me as I desperately searched for an escape route, my mind racing with fear and adrenaline.

“She said…leave,” A voice came from the back, and two arms pulled me away from the bucky stranger. I stumbled backward, relieved to be free from his grasp, and struggled to catch my breath.

“Who are you to interrupt?” The bucky stranger said, trying to pull me to him again, but the newcomer stood firm, his expression unwavering.

"Leave; I don’t want to repeat myself,” he said as if his words worked like magic and the bucky dude finally left.

I wanted to thank the man for saving my ass today, but just as I turned my head, everything started to dance in front of my eyes before it all shut down and turned black.

“So, how long are you planning to stay single?” My friend and my beta Lucas brought up the same topic that he brings up a hundred times in front of me.

“I will until I find her.” I sighed, repeating the same damn words I had said to him.

Lucas nodded his head. “I know, but you also know that finding a mate is not as easy as one might think; some wolves couldn't even find one in their whole lifetime.”

“I know, but I still wait,” I repeated, taking a big chug of my favorite whiskey.

“But you're aware that a pack requires a Luna and an heir to continue our bloodline.” Lucas continued.

"I need some fresh air," I declared, excusing myself from the conversation and moving away.

Just as I was making my way downstairs, a faint smell flared my nostrils—a smell of something so different yet very pleasing—and I let my nose follow my step, walking one step closer to the person with the pleasing scent.

Following the captivating scent, I approached the bar table, where a lone human female sat in the company of a man. Everything seemed good at first, and I wanted to intrude, so I stood close to her, hearing all the words.

Never in life has a human smell so amusing to me; her fragrance electrifies all my senses; maybe she is the one I was trying to find all this time, my one and only mate. But along with her pleasing fragrance, I can also smell her sadness in her mood; she is sad about something. Maybe that is the reason why she is here drinking all alone while everyone else is enjoying their lives.

“Leave me alone.” I heard the female shout as she was sitting, grabbing her hands and pulling her to him. She punched the chest of a man trying to escape, but he was too big for her to handle alone.

“She said... leave,” I said, freeing her from his grasp and pulling her to me.

“Who are you to interrupt?” The nasty man said he was trying to pull her away from me.

"Leave; I don’t want to repeat myself,” I said, and with eyes dark as my wolf tried to take control over my body, fangs appeared in my mouth, and before I could say anything, the man left.

Fortunately, he departed; otherwise, my wolf would have torn him to shreds for daring to touch my mate.

Her hands touched my shoulders, making my wolf calm down. I stared at a person whose scent was so exciting to me. My eyes stared at her, and within a mere second, I knew that she was one for me. Before any words could escape my lips, she went limp in my arms, her body growing unnaturally still, sending a wave of panic through me. Panic surged as I frantically searched for a pulse; my relief was palpable when I confirmed she was still breathing. Holding her close, a fierce protectiveness enveloped me as a solemn vow resonated within me to shield her from harm at any expense.
