Chapter 6

Samantha POV

Kaleb woke me up just after 7 am. We made sure we have breakfast together before starting to get ready. I have barely an hour to get ready before we have to leave for the harbor.

Luckily I showered last night so it will shorten my time to get ready. I decided not to put on some make-up. I mean I am going to be stranded on a boat for a long time. I don't know how long the journey is going to take from Stratboro Island to Grey Guardian island.

"Samantha. Let's go. We are going to be late. Remember we have a schedule to uphold."

I placed my toothbrush back in my luggage. and made my way out of the room I stayed in.

"What no make-up today?"Kaleb asks with a smile.

"There is something you need to know. I may be a woman, but I hate make-up. I will only wear make-up if I have a party to attend with you. I will not wear make-up at home and I certainly won't wear it while stuck on a boat. That my dear friend is not practical."I finish my rant with my hands on my hips.

Kaleb looks at me with amusement in his eyes.

"I wish more women are like you. You will receive no judgment from me." He shrugs with the biggest grin on his face.

Kaleb leads me out of the hotel and into the car. The ride to the harbor took us a few minutes, so I couldn't ask Kaleb what he meant.

We climb onto the boat and Kaleb showed me around. The boat is a Raphael 57 ft yacht. I couldn't understand what the difference is between a boat and a yacht. To me, they are the same. Kaleb explained to me that a yacht is bigger than a boat. The boat is mostly used by fishermen. Yachts are more recreational.

Below deck, as Kaleb would call it, was a small kitchen. There were a seating arena and a place to do some work. There are also 2 small bedrooms. Kaleb explained to me that we would share a bedroom while the cabin crew and the few people that he brought with, will share the other room. They will also take turns to sleep.

We finally set sail at 9 am. Kaleb tried to teach me all the boat lingo that the captain is using, but I didn't understand anything that he said. I soon decided that I will just go to my room and just wait for Kaleb to finish with the caption.

I walk into the room and went to lie on the bed. There are some books scattered all around the room. I walk to pick one up and see that it is a crime thriller. I walked back to the bed and start to read.

I was startled awake when I felt the bed dip. I open my eyes to see one of Kaleb's guards sitting on the bed. I lift myself up on my arms.

He places his hand on my ankle and starts to drag his hand up my leg.

"What are you doing?" I ask getting scared of the look on his face.

"You are such a pretty little thing. I don't know why Kaleb just wants you as a companion. If you were mine then I would have fucked your brains out every single night." He says licking his lips.

The door burst open and Kaleb stands in there. He looks pissed. He almost looks like he is going to murder someone.

"Get your hands off of her, James." Kaleb almost shouted.

James slowly raises his hands in the air.

"Don't be like that Kaleb. Why can't you share her with the rest of us?"

"I do not have to explain myself to you or anyone for that matter. Whatever I decide to do with my slave or not to do is all up to me. I paid for her so that means she is legally mine and not yours. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, sir." James makes his way out of the room.

Kaleb went to sit on the bed next to me.

"Are you okay?" Kaleb asks.

I try to make myself as small as possible. I never want to be in a room alone with James.

"Samantha. Are you okay?"

I feel the tears sting my eyes.

"Promise me that I never have to be alone again with him in a room?" I ask Kaleb.

"I promise you. Until this boat ride is over I will never leave you alone again. I can promise you that I will make sure that you never feel scared again." Kaleb says and I can see that he really means it. It will be so easy to fall in love with him. I can already feel myself falling and there is nothing I can do about it.

"Thank you, Kaleb."

"Do you want me to sit with you?"

"Please, if you don't mind."

Kaleb lied down next to me. We stare at the ceiling.

"What did you mean when you said you wish more woman was like me?" I turn on my side so that I am facing Kaleb. He does the same.

"Times have truly changed Samantha. In the beginning, women barely wore makeup. Now, they use make-up as a mask. They place too many products on their face. Some women are beautiful and they make them ugly with all the make-up. I wish for women to just go back to the way it was before."

"I want to ask you another question. How old are you? You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

"I am just over 700 years old."

"Can you tell me about the old world?"

"What do you want to know?"

"Why did all of this happen? Why did all the species split?"

"Years ago the humans started to wage wars against each other. We as supernaturals were in the middle. Dragons were being bred for war. Same with vampires and werewolves. One day the elders just had enough and we fled after we destroyed all their weapons. All species came together and elected what we all know as elders now. Even the human elder decided that this is the best way to keep the peace."

"You do know about my medicine? I injected myself last night, but I need to know if you got more. I only have a week of medicine left."

"Yes, I do. They made sure to include that in your bio. I called the doctor at the pack to make sure they have more for you, so you don't need to worry."

"Thank you, Kaleb."

"Do you know what the medicine is for?"

"No, my breeder told me that I need to take it or else I will die."

I feel my eyes closing slowly. The yacht is slowly lulling me to sleep. Kaleb keeps on talking but I take nothing in as the darkness takes me into its arms.
